My 98 csvt has started to accelerate very slowly above 4,000rpm. I know this sounds like the secondaries but around 3,500 I can hear them open and the engine pitch change. I have just replaced the oil and the fuel filter hoping the situation would resolve itself but it hasn't. Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong? It accelerates fine up till 4,000 then goes to pot.

lus, its not throwing ant codes

Have you checked the secondaries visually? Have the car running, bring the rpm's up from the throttle body and watch for it to open.

Aside from that, you may want to check your fuel pressure. It could be the pump is starting to go and not able to deliver enough fuel at high rpm's.

I checked the scondaries visually and the connection is broken between the rotating late and the metal stick looking thing. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Whats the best way to fix it. I may just try to rig it if theres no good way.

the best way to fix is to replace the little white bushing to hold the rod in the linkage. you can get the bushing from you local dealership and dont be surprised when they want $8.00 for a little piece of plastic as small as a crum:laugh:

if we r talkin bout the same thing the the arm that is attached to the secondaries has a square hole and round rod is supposed to go in it then that is the part you need.

You can pick up a pack of Universal ones at Advanced auto..I wish i would have got picks of the ones i used etc and they have little arms on them that the metal rod clips into so it will never come back out again unless it melts. After install i wiggled it pretty darn good and nothing happend cheap easy fix only like 2bucks IIRC.
