All my friends in hartford got out at noon and went to the bar! And I'm stuck here in middletown because all the highways/main roads are moving at 5mph from everyone going home early. I just wanted to complain about this. Feel free to add frustration although you're probably posting from home drinking nog because you got out early. In which case I hate you too.

I didn't get out early. I'm doing a full day. Fortunately my commute is 6 miles through backroads (no interstates!) and I have my fiance's 4x4 escape.

So I don't have all that much to complain about. Except I'm the only one here cause everyone else left early.

I'm still at work. Only reason is I only want to work 5 hours tomorrow and if I stay to 4 like normal today then I can do that. its kinda funny, everyone rushes home to get there before the storm and now they are sitting in traffic. pull up google maps traffic and look at hartford, its a parkinglot

back roads ftw  and the ebrake also

I use beatthetraffic.com, seems to be more accurate and informative than google traffic. I'm actually checking it constantly lol. I have the option of going home early, but I won't get paid for the rest of the day unless I've accrued Paid Time Off hours.

School was cancelled this morning, but it wasn't a district closing so I was supposed to work. I called out though. I would of gone in for 8 and been let out at 12 anyways. I know it wouldn't be a full day. Sorry, not dragging myself in for a few hours to do nothing.

I am writing a report on a Truss I built this week for my Mechanics 1 class. Its snowing pretty good right now. I played in it for a bit. It kinda blows, I'm not sure where the hell my group is and I'm the only one writing this damn thing. No one is answering their phones. I bet they're playing a joke on me. They did this to me before. Oh well.:nonono:

I think I'm goin boarding sometime this week. Two snowstorms in a row. The mountains should be pretty decent.

Just lie on your timesheet. That's what I'll be doing this week. Did I say that?

Most of my coworkers have laptops to work from home. My manager and two coworkers worked from home. Another coworker left at 1 to work from home. Another doesn't have a laptop but has a 2hour commute normally! so she just called sick. At 3pm myself and another coworker were the last ones in the department so we contacted the mgr who said we can go home.

The parents in the department get all sorts of perks just because they have kids...

My commute takes 25 mins normally, it was 1hr 15-20 mins today to get to the Hannaford near my home. I was fine until I turned onto my street which has a slight incline (where it intersects with Hanover), and I almost got stuck. I blew right through two 4way stops at a cool 3mph so I wouldn't get stuck, but I did get stuck going up my driveway. :(

I only have all-seasons, but they're pretty new. One of my snows went flat last year and those beater rims are shot. I am saving up for an AWD vehicle :ponder: so I'm trying to keep expenses low.

no time sheet...salary...but...no money for overtime, deduction for undertime...figure that out :blackeye:

So took me about 2 hours to get home including car cleaning and driving around my parking garage looking for a spot. There was none so I had to make one on the open fourth floor. Of course the spots there aren't plowed so I had to park perpendicular to them... grrr!!

My wifes car blew tha ABS/heater blower fuse again!! So she had to drive hope in this crap with no heat and the windshield starter to frost up on both the outside and inside. Of course she also forgot to bring her cell phone with her today! I'm just glad she made it home. I threw another 60A fuse in and removed the 7.5A ABS fuse under the dash. I'd rather have her without ABS than without heat and ABS. Not sure what's causing it to go but it's a pain.

i was in manchester this morning and left about 1pm.
i pulled into my driveway at 4:45
jess left woburn at 2:15 (14 mile commute) she got home at 6:30

and neither of my snow blowers will stay running!!!
at least the stuff is fluffy

Mine does that everytime the ABS is used for more than a quick few seconds.

I'm guessing it's bad wiring somewhere. I thought about just throwing in a slightly higher amperage fuse instead of the 60 amp.

i had a fun afternoon today as well...i finally got the SVT into the shop for the helicoil (aircougar was going to help me out but i just couldnt get any free time during a weekend, but big thanks to greg for the effort!) so i picked it up from the shop at 1pm with 2 inches of snow on the ground and i still have my summer tires on their...real fun...then i had to drive it home so pick up the GLI (which thankfully has the snows on there) and drive to quincy to pick up the GF at the T station...i left at 1:30 and got home after 5pm...quincy is 15 miles from my house! but made it to and from safely and the SVT is back home...so i guess it wasnt so bad :)

It's 12:45 AM and I am working a problem set due at 8AM. And a lab report...I'm screwed . I just hope classes aren't delayed cuz that would TOTALLY screw up everything, because we have finals next week! Stupid snow.

I was called in 4 hours early for overtime starting at 2pm, just when the snow was getting bad... I live 4 minutes from work, and took about 25 to get there.. not too bad, just bumper to bumper for a while on one main road...

They figured they would call everyoneon the Before Tour Overtime list for the MAX 4 hours so they would have employees in the building to work the mail, as 70 people (out of 110) called out of work tonight!!!

So, I got out of work @ 2:30 am, SVT was COVERED with snow, and luckily there was a shovel in the hallway on my way out of the building, so I dug myself out, and made it home safe and rather quick, as most of the roads were fairly clear...

When i got home @ 3 am, I had to unearth my wife's car, clear off the hatchway door, and then push all the snow off the roof of my carport from the inside, which all in all, took about an hour to do... I am tired!!!

Plus I have to go in @ 2PM tomorrow AGAIN!! OVERTIME FTW!!!

Sorry Tony, the SVT is gonna have to wait another day... that is the only thing that pisses me off about going into work so early! No time to work on vehicles!

Wow that is crazy Greg, lol. I'm not looking forward to later on today. I'll have to dig myself out of my parking spot, as I'm sure I got plowed in, because they have to plow the lots with cars occupying the spots. Not to mention it is a dirt lot :(. I don't have a shovel, but I think I'm going to steal a Dining Commons tray and use that! LOL! The roads are still horrendous up here with probably a few inches deep of dirty, sandy, slippery snow on a few of the main roads through campus! Ugh. No fun.

I'm telling you guys .... car-sized shovel in the trunk ... it has saved me sooo many times ....
