Can't have a SZ without problems...

i didn't help ctmystique pull the motor from his car but I did help drop it back in and it isn't to hard. its like 40 steps I think according to the Ford CD ... it wasn't that bad ...

yeah, when i was working at the garage i pulled a bunch of different motors.
its not that bad.

i pulled SAAB motors, subie motors, a chevy truck motor, and a few others i cant think of.

hell i did a saab motor 3 times in the same car in 4 days!
haha

My clutch has always grabbed high even after bleeding so unless you are going to replace your brake fluid anyways I wouldn't bother. I remember reading about the 2000s grabbing high also.

Yeah, I drove his car the other day, and it felt the same as always, to me. His car always felt funny to me because I'm more used to driving the GL. And now I'm more used to the MS6, so going from one to the other feels strange.

Leave well enough alone is what I'm thinking is best. :)

they all grab high....every last one of em.

mike, if you're gonna tear into it, now would be a good time for a torsen and flywheel as well.

I have to see if i still have the part numbers for the shim kits you'll need for that...watever one ford says you need is wrong.

i like the idea of a trorsen/quaife but funds wont allow that at this point.
i don't plan on ever upgrading the motor (well not just yet anyay)
so i dont feel the need to beef up the trans.
and i don't have enough knowledge of the internals to do it myself, and i sure couldn't afford the labor for someone else to do it.
plus if iwas gonne beef it up, i might as well by an HMS tranny.

he said he can't afford it lol!

problem with your standard ford dealer/shop is they'll do what the book says and drop the motor.

I had downs ford do mine in toms river (even though i heard bad things about them after the fact!!). I had no issues, but the labor alone was almost $2500!!

after dealing with Bonnell ford and my motor replacement, i am never going back to a dealer for major work.

as i said i will most likely try and do this in the fall, if it lasts that long.
hehe

SZ is short for Spring Zing. It's our annual, national event to meet and enjoy a bunch of events.
There is a forum for that up above the regional forums. Check it out.

A lot of people have developed really strong friendships, so you'll see a lot of ball-busting in those threads, but we're all friends (we just show it in a funny way).

The drive back from SZ left its mark with me, too, it seems.

I just got to washing my car last night, and in the process, noticed a spot that wasn't washing off. I quickly realized that you can't wash off sheet metal. :( I remember hearing a rock hit the car during road work in NY. Apparently it took a little piece of paint off, down to the metal. I'm ticked. I'll hit up Paint Scratch for a touch- up pen. Fortunately, it's a very small nick!

Drivers side fender at the front corner? :ponder:

I noticed it at Steak-n-Shake.
