My SVT has been getting the check engine light on and off for code p0455 which is the code for an EVAP system leak. I replaced the gas cap and thought that fixed the problem, but today the light came back on. I notice that after I reset the system the light won't come back until I'm at about half a tank of gas and then it comes back pretty quickly after a reset. Took a quick look under the rear to see if there were any visible leaks and I couldn't find one. Does anybody have any advice on where else I could look, or is this one of those things where a dealer can fix it much easier than we can?
 
check all of the hoses for the evap system. not going to be easy as you have to drop the tank to check the connections on the top of the tank.
 
Its really not that hard to drop the tank on these cars.

1. lift rear of car and put on jack stands
2. disconnect rear 3 exhaust hangers
3. remove whit clip from filler neck (have a unbroken one on hand) they are only about 5 bucks from Tousely
4. remove the 2 bolts for the tank straps with a jack supporting the tank
5. lower tank

That's assuming you have a empty tank though.
installation is the reversal of above, just make sure you line up the filler neck
 
Hey thanks Cobra, yeah I didn't think it would be too difficult to do. I would have to empty my tank though. However I'm in crunch time of my last semester of college and I'll be moving after that. So spending a few hours troubleshooting is probably not in the cards right now.
