Has anyone ever heard of this? When I questioned them, this was the response:
"You will find that there are about 100 of these cars in canada they are an imported car from over seas, Hope this answers your question."

I know we got 200 98 CSVT's and 200 99 CSVT's, but never heard of a SE GT before... And as far as I knew, the European version was called the Mondeo...lol

maybe it was some kind of "add on" sticker or fake trim level that sometime dealer put to sell there overstock car.

for importing a mondeo from europe to canada its need to be 15 year or older , thats mean that you can import up to Mondeo 1993 right now without any problem

Sombody is smoking craaccckkk!

I don't know how that "sticker" got on there but I guess it would be worth the sales pitch.

Try to get the vin and run it and see what you come up with. That should give you the answer.

if you are close by why not take a look see. can't hurt. she may have something and has no clue, this is a first year production se and pre svtc. i have enough interest to go see with me own eyes, the good one that is not the wink'n one. ahhh but not @ her lo-cal 800 mi is my limit.

I don't think I'll get anymore answers from her, she's being quite short with me... lol I guess she didn't like me calling it a "fake GT"... Someone ask her to look at the inner door badge and see where it says it was built. That might give her a hint! lol

Oh, where did the lovely stripes go in her ad for the car anyways? Notice they aren't there....

So apparently the ad has been changed, and it was her son replying for her... She has apologized for him, this was her last response to me...

"I just updated the AD (again)

Thank you for your information. I do not know alot about cars and perhaps have been letting my son convince me otherwise.

I am going to have the VIN checked to see exactly what comes up for that car's full title.. and until I know for certain, I will keep the AD as SE...

If you could let your friends on that Contour site know it was an honest mistake made by the seller's son?

and absolutely! if you know of someone looking for a contour, please direct them my way.

Thanks again
Linda"

Well, so much for that fun!

Yeah it was changed and then the price went up $200. They are crazy. Someone needs to learn some things about what they are selling.

Imported:laugh: Sounds like her head has been imported up her ass.

Looks like someone had a little Mustang envy and had some Shelby-ish vinyl made. Other than the flat tire and wal-mart fog lights, I see nothing special about that car.

Whats's the mileage?

167499 kms she says... And it was repainted 6 years ago, and the decals weren't put back on. Maybe because they couldn't find them anywhere!

Oh well, she has been cool with me, it was her son that was being the prick! Apparently she is getting the VIN run, but she won't be happy with what she finds! lol:crazy:

FYI, did a little research and the GT Mondeo came in a Sports version and was only offered inthe netherlands and is the equiv. UK Si

this is what was offered

GT - 1.8 L/2.0 L 4-cylinder, 2.5 L V6, 1.8 L turbodiesel, sports version, 4-door sedan, 5-door liftback, 4-door wagon. Only offered in the Netherlands, equivalent to UK-spec Si

Also it's hard to read the model decal but it doesn't look like it says Contour.

at least that's what wiki says.
