If i buy a used 2.5 duratec motor like the stock contours and cougars and put all my svt parts on it would it be the same as having the regular svt motor?

No, SVT's had different cams, lower intake manifold, upper intake manifold, lighter flywheel, and a bigger throttle body. It'd drop you down to 170hp (base contour) from a stock SVT (195-205 hp)

so if i put my svt cams and everything in it , it still wouldnt be the same?

It will not be the same. It will be close. I needed headers to get the same power numbers on my SE 2.5L with all the other SVT items, minus pistons and flywheel.

pistons, heads, cams, lower and upper intake manifold, throttle body, flywheel and ecu tuning are all different.

yeah i have everything to my old svt engine was going to do a 3L swap but running low on cash, so if i put all the svt parts on a 2.5 duratec motor would it run the same

as long as you put everything on, yeah i dont see why not. swapping pistions and heads is a bit of a task though. a 3l install can be done cheap. i've seen them done for nothing more than the cost of the engine, engine hoist rental and a lot of skin.

Agreed. If I needed to replace my stock engine, a 3L would be the only option I'd consider. Only upgrades, never downgrades.

Yeah I just don't have enough time to look at threads for the parts I need for a 3l I want to do one but I have no idea where to even start
