I totally forgot til now about the winter tires/wheels we bought for the Mazda a few years ago. They were from craigslist.
Brand new winter rubber with only 2,000 miles on 17inch stock wheels.
Yeah the wheels were curb rashed, but that didn't matter to us because we needed them for winter. He sold us all 4 wheels/tires for less than he paid for the actual rubber.
And they're still going strong.

you can make a good living off craigslist... it can pay more then most jobs and its all tax free

True but it just seems like way too much of a hassle to keep making cash on CL. I'd rather just get deals on something I'll actually use rather than something I have no need for other than to resell for a higher price.

its a hassle but its not really working hard.. its really good money back when i had time i was making around 2-4 grand a month working only when i felt like it..

I'd have to beat that in order to make more than I am now. And like Kim said, it's evading taxes. Doing that while owning a home wouldn't be the smartest move for me.

we do own a home... you just have to do it as a second income and noone can prove anything....... we both work when we feel like it and do craigslist on the side for extra money...

Best buy yet was my 2004 Silverado, 4x4, 5.3L V8, 210k miles, for $6k

I just got a letter in the mail saying that I am under audit because they don't believe what I paid for the truck! hahahaha .

I have to send signed paperwork from the seller regarding the sale price at the time of the sale or they will charge me more tax over the price I paid on the market value of the truck at the time of purchase!

Jack asses. Good thing it is a legit deal and I saved all the paperwork ;).

Eat that wisconsin dept of motor vehicles! hahahaha

that works!!! in mass sale tax is based book value price., so even if you pay 1000 for a 5000 dollar truck there going to nail you on the book..

^ are you kidding me? That is bull crap :nonono:. If you find a good deal, you should be rewarded with a lower tax fee.

Personally I don't think there should be any kind of tax on used items if there was tax charged on it when it was purchased originally. But thank you politicians!
