check out these hood vents this local guy made for the cobras. he wanted to go in on making batches of these. theyre thin sheetmetal which means they can easily flex to fit a differently shaped hood.

what do you guys think?

and of course, we could use black bolts instead of chrome (if desired). and colors can always be changed as well. maybe even the design of the bars, or leave them open with mesh inserts..

I guess owing a CNC machine these days means you qualify as a fabricator.

Eh... they definitely serve a purpose on the Cobra but I'm not really feelin' them that much. He definitely did a good job on them... just seems like too much as they're right behind the stock vents. They would probably look good on a Contour if they are put in the right spot... need someone in here good at photoshop to see how they'd look I'd say.

I'd really like to have a set of TF hood vents and side scoops for my Cobra... but unfortunately I'm poor

BTW weren't you supposed to send me a call tag and RMA for my package I need to send back

No point in putting them on a tour unless you got a turbo/sc..a v6 doesn't really run that much heat anyways.

Would suck to drive it in the rain though..figure all that water going ontop of your hot engine.

looks good on the cobras but i dont see us having much use for them here.

venting out engine heat is good for ANY car. especially if you race it. why do you think stazi (now ryan) put those cosworth hood vents on. these are the same thing, they just look less like maxi-pads.

not what I meant lol and the pic your talking about of ryans car is old as dirt and is long gone. sure getting rid of heat is a good thing to any car but those vents are all sharp edged, and the contour is rounded everywhere. those exact vents would not be appealing on a contour imo, because they wouldnt flow on the car at all.

Are you on drugs? Ever track a Contour? I'm guessing no. Still rather deal with the heat rather than those vents.

that could easily be changed. as can the size and everything about them.

I never recieved an e-mail from you yesterday or today so I didn't know what to do other than what I said in my reply. Actually I was either going to call you again or send you an e-mail. Incidentally I did just that a few minutes ago so you have mail with my return address.

i think these vents would look great if they were a ring with mesh inserts. something simple, and effective.

all done now. youre good to go.

I actually think if there were some vents done like the old "Cosworth" style vents put in the right place in the hood would look really good. Maybe that's what others were referring to earlier in this thread?

Thanks a bunch Steve... I'll let you know when I get it shipped out to you ;)

Say can you hook a bruda up on some hood vents and some side scoop pieces  Do I count as a "TF wheel customer" now

I'm assuming he also pulled the fiber padding off the bottom of the hood as well. Anyone do that to their contour and not get paint fade?

a good percentage of my paint looks like poop. my car has no under hood liner, suprisingly my hood is one of the few parts of the car that is still verry nice and glossy:shrug:

Something like this...

These are just stick ons that where on the car since I bought it. I left them on because I'm afraid to see what the paint looks like under them.
