deeper exhaust sound

i removed my resonator and cat and placed a staight pipe. It sounds great at idle but begins to rasp around 3000-4000rpm. it gets kinda annoying so i won't really recommend it. i'm not sure if i got much hp gain by doing that either. i'm thinking about going flowmaster and getting a high flow cat when i get the money.

i know it has been said before.. but go the the thread with the exhaust clips(located in Duratec Performance), and listen to every one if you have to.. it you find a sound that you like PM that person and ask them about their set up.. that would be the best way about going about it.

Alright the sound clips helped but a local that I know told me to just remove the mufflers if i was looking for just a deeper sound. And to use some resonated tips to quite it down a bit. I tought that this might be a possiblity since I dont have the money right now to redo the entirre thing and since s of now Im not looking for performance. What do you guys think?

so if your going to do that, you should probably just cut the main rez out. (thats the biggest one under the car) its the most restrictive of the mufflers on the csvt. then leave the two little mufflers where they come out from under the rear bumper. for now.

But if you're looking to cut out the mufflers and the main rez and planning on sticking rez then you would just be better off getting the cheap trubendz exhaust.

The res is already gone and I have a crack in one of the mufflers so I was thinking about getting them replaced anyways. So I figured that I'd give this a shot before I threw different mufflers on. I have a buddy that is going to do it for free so Im not really going to lose anything. Just giving it a shot.
