Just thought I would share my experience from this weekend. Not contour related but I think most of you will still enjoy it. A few pics and vids from the DSM shootout this past weekend.. Held at Buschur Racing in Wakeman oh about 20 min from where I live.. This was Saturday's event.. Sunday was supposed to be open race day but got rained out.. Still a pretty good time though..

i've been thinking about this for a really long time, wat makes a Japaneese car with a 2.0 liter DOHC engine produce 500+ hp and we struggle to get 250 out of our little ZETEC's??
 
yes tons of boost... 40+ pounds and vp 119 octane in the silver evo in the vids.. it put down 751 awhp and 496 ft lbs torque. I chatted with the guy who owns it , it runs low 10's consistently and he still drives it on the street.. I couldn't imagine pulling up next to him at a stop light.. not trying to imply anything ;)

oh trust me, 500 WHP is doable with a zetec, but obviously you need to build the **** out of that motor to get any kind of durability out of it, and even then with that much boost its not going to last long.

Plus on a FWD once you past 250 whp it starts to get harder and harder to put that power on the road.

i have a 200+WHP zetec contour. Turbo Tom has/had a 500+WHP SVT Focus

The whole pass right from the start went very well i could feel out of the hole she hooked up and was pulling hard.

My boost was 27 (Gauge) 30 (Boost Controller)Psi not sure what one is right i would guess the gauge.

I was on my 2 year old drag radials (grabbed the wrong set when i loaded the cars )BFG G-Force Drag Dadials(DOT)tires.

I am 5 PSI more boost and hooked up the Overdrive on the Lentech from the Atlanta 12.71 pass. I was hitting the rev limiter at about 3 car length from the lights (Atlanta) and now can pull all the way through the lights I think this made a BIG differance

The ZX3 is still on STOCK Cams and Ignition and running.

I have 10 Psi still there not used and a 125 shot of Nitrous that has yet to be used down the track BUT. Now i have to decide where to stop. With FFW DEMANDING a 5 point cage , safety belts , Drivers Jacket and needing something more than the stock brakes and brake pads . I have to decide just how far do i want to go and how much more to spend on keeping it street legal ?????

that pass was over 3 years ago. i havent seen or heard any updates in quite a while though.
