Duratec 3.0 engine

Have any of you people had any experience using the 3.0 Jag block.
There is a Jag engine going cheap ,with the head gasket gone over the pond here in england.
I have 3 alternatives.
1- Take jag heads of n use some 2.5 ported ones.ie hybrid.
2- Fix head gasket n port match 2.5 inlets or use ST220 inlets(plenty over here).
3- There is a ST220 engine with cracked block i could add jag block to ST220 heads.
Also i was thinking of turbo.
Is there a chance of boring a duratec 3.0 to a 3.5.
As i would be buying Forged pistons ,so i would buy some that would fit a 3.5

Are the Jaguar cars called the same in the USA.Its just that the use a Duratec 3.0 engine with better heads ,slightly more power.

hey. i dont think jag motors can be used on our cars. i honestly dunno why. but am sure someone will tell u. did u try searching first? am sure some info will be available.

Mercury Sable
Ford Escape
Mazda Tribute

1999-2003 3.0L DOHC Duratec Engines only from the following vehicles swap with some extra customizations needed

Lincoln LS
Jaguar S-Type
Mazda 6

3.0L Jaguar X-type is also a duratec.

The Jaguar engines, Mazda 6 engine and Lincoln LS engines all use Variable valve timing which would be practically impossible to adapt over to the Contour/Cougar platform without bringing over all the electronics from that car. The variable valve timing is one reason why these engines have more power than the normal 3.0L's. It might be possible to use the blocks but then you might as well use the Tuarus/Sable/Escape engine because your just paying more for the name if you get the jaguar/LS/6 block.

This is fantastic .i was just going to use the block.
i have a duratec ST220 3.0 that needs a new block.
Any more info now .
ie possible diffrent oil ways.
Jaguar s type is a duretec 3.0.
Just to put people in the picture,the cars mentioned sable,taurus are not commonly available in england so are a no go-so i am exporing duratec 3.0 engines that are .The mazda ,Jag s type duratec 3.0 is i think called a AJ.
