Failed again!

Apparently last time they only checked one brake/rotor. This time they had all the wheels off and got a good look at all four. The driver's front was missing the clip that holds the caliper (I remember MAZDASPEED had fun with this in '03) so it was digging into the rotor, enough to not pass.

I have brakes on order from Stazi (as soon as I pay him in a few minutes). Hopefully they'll arrive and be on the car by the 13th.

must .. drive .. a .. contour .. in .. fall meet ...

side note .. I haven't yet driven the same vehicle for a Fall Meet...

matt you can go through stazi if you like but you should also be able to go to your local advance auot parts and get bendix pads and rotors ... but I am not sure of the price difference, might be worth it if you want them that fast.

Just get them local at Advance! Contour brakes are so friggin easy. Just need a 50 torx for the rear and swing the caliper up & out. That is if not replacing rotors. For front it's like 2 15mm bolts to remove the caliper. If you bought Fusion ZRi's you better not use them in the winter! You dead.

Matt, if you need help doing the brakes let me know. I've got all the tools needed and you're welcome to use our garage too. So far I think I've done about 4 or 5 brake jobs on Contours/Cougars.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I got pulled over and a written warning for having no inspection, on my way to the inspection place! :dizzy:

don't they have anything more important to do? That sticker is small. They must have been on the side of the road with a telescope looking for cars with bad inspection stickers. Geeze.

Not exactly. I was on Industrial Drive in Merrimack turning left onto the DW Highway (Rt 3). I was the only one turning left. My light turned orange/red so I stopped. The officer was facing southbound and so he saw my car as his light turned green. Maybe he was admiring the uber cool red Contour, maybe he was trying to figure out if I had illegal tint on the front windows, maybe he saw a guilty look on my face .. but in any case he saw the missing sticker. Very shortly after I made my turn and was driving northbound, I saw flashing lights and was pulled over.

Ironically enough, as I was heading to Monro again today at 5:15pm I saw a cruiser in the exact same location as I was turning left. I was so nervous of deja vu but apparently he didn't see.
