Fiberglass Parts Intrest Check

i would be interested in stock replacement parts. I also liked the RAZZI side skirts alot but i know that no one else does. ill keep an eye open for when you start making parts.

Hey yamaha why don't you make some fiberglass SVT side skirts?

Cut out those crappy jack points that fall off and just make straight clean OEM copies!

because...
a) they are a PITA to find in good condition
b) SVTs and non-SVTs can use them and they are a great cosmestic upgrade
c) They are not that curvy so you sould be able to fit them on a 4'x12' square, not to mention they are slender so you can make a complete set at once if not two sets at once. Or maybe make 3 at clip and do sets of driver sides and passenager sides. (optimize for fast production, with short turn around time)
d) clean SVT skirts without jack inserts would look sexy in any paint match color!

hmmm they do seem quite easy except i have to passenger side ones and no driver sides.

how about some upper dash bezels w/the gauge holes like pole/philly made? or have the gauges in the speedo opening, one on each side:shrug:

In my opinion it would be nice to have anything below, some of them have been mentioned before.

1. Pre-98 trunk lid... They have yet to be made by anyone
2. Hood (OEM at first, maybe other options later?? Scoote, CobraR...)
3. Fender with vent behind tire, subtle would be nice... maybe something like a Pontiac TransAm.
4. Side skirts w/o jack point cover
5. Stereo bezel with opening for a double din head unit.
6. Cover for radiator support to help make the engine bay cleaner, I've seen some chrome pieces made that do this already... although no one sells them (in the US anyway) and having it in FG/CF would be nice.
7. eyebrows for headlights (sold cheaper then Topshop CF: $80, FG: $68)
8. IMRC cover (sold cheaper then Topshop, CF: $210)

rear window visor would be cool as only a hand full are out there also pre 98 headlight housing blanks too put projectors in:shrug:

I second the rear window visor/valence, but coming across one would be a bit difficult.
well there easy enough to find but the problem is trying to get someone to give one up long enough for one to be molded /// so how bout it you lucky few that have one :cool:

so i am going to start getting the plugs ready to make the molds.

first thing i am going to try is doing the side skirts without jackpoint covers.

first problem i see, its going to be hard to put the little tabs that hold the front of the skirt on to the body. my solution is going to be use industrial two sided tape. the rear mounting points and side points will still be there so the tape barely does any supporting. it seemed like the easiest thing to produce. simple small shape, and something everybody might need eventually since they are easily lost to snow and speed bumps.

as far as price i am not sure yet. shouldn't be too much.

so next person to post should start a list of people who are interested.hoping to get 10 or more

I dont have a set anymore to take pictures

I hope this makes sense...

the ends went into the wheel well like the svt skirt. You then used screws to anchor it. The length of it though was different in mounting. It fold under the doors(instead of stopping), where you could put in more screws to mount it.. Not as professional as the SVT mounting but much easier to mount then a contour without skirt mounting brackets.

well, i know who the owners are ;).

none of us are gonna give them up anytime soon.
and we thank you...i'd have to be paid to put one on my tour:shrug:,this coming from someone who was in the original gb many years ago. imho they went out of style at the same time as boy bands
