Finally Finished the Tour!

Paint looks good, wing looks awful, needs more SVT Rear bumper and optional Front bumper.

Sometimes I feel like putting a huge aluminum wing on my SVT just to drive you guys nuts. If they guy likes the wing then so be it, it is his car.
Good job on that tour, it look very good.

His name is Mean Tour not PC Tour.

The wing is a monstrosity!

I may not have as many posts as you, but I joined this group two years before you did. I will take GOOD criticism from the people on this board that have earned my respect. You have done nothing here to earn the right to badmouth anybody else. Please refrain from dirtying my thread with your presence.

Nice suggestion, but nah I choose to dirty up "your" thread all good and nice!

Let me attempt to understand your statement. You will only take "GOOD criticism"? What does that mean? You only want people whom you know and who have "earned (your) respect" to pat you on the back? Tell you good job?

What do you respect? A wing installation How-to?

Flamethrowing exhaust? HUGE A@# wing? ==== RICE !

Gonna have to agree with MeanTour on this one... you post any pictures of your car in pics and vids people are going to say something negative no matter what. Not everybody has the same taste as you do. We dont like your wing, Im VERY surprised that nobody said anything about the abscence of svt bumpers with SVT skirts, the SE skirts are designed to go with the stock rear and front bumpers, which is why if you want skirts and not bumpers we suggest you get SE ones. Im confused towards why you didnt just get an SVT rear bumper to match the skirts, it would look hella better even if you kept the stock front bumper. Take Todd's 96' SE for example.

Whatever works for you man, you arent supposed to customise a car just because you want other people to like it. thats stupid, change a cars apperance so that you like it, and if other people bad mouth it then thats just not their style.

The people around here know a thing or two about classy mods though, so I personally respect their opinions. For example, when I was looking for body mods for my old tour, I almost got SVT skirts because they actually were cheaper. I asked about it, and people frowned upon it and said "You will not like that look with the stock bumpers" so I searched harder and found some SE skirts, took one hard look at it once they were painted and on, and was VERY happy with the result.

Nice car. I like it even with the wing!

And to each, his own. Like my hood scoop! lol We need a couple of different shots/angles of the wing. I think the one you have doesn't do it any justice what so ever. It probably looks alot more impressive from the side and from a head on approach.

i like your car a lot!

i think you should buy a couple of small aluminum step ladders and mount your wing to those. really get that sucker up there for extra downforce.

You're right. I have no automotive knowledge. I was the first guy to make a pre-98 console switch panel, which I milled myself here in my shop. Then I powdercoated and anodized switch panels, which I sold to other members here.

I was one of the first guys with the balls to tear apart their guage bezels and put in the aluminum inserts they started making a few years back.

I painted the car MYSELF. All the body work was done by ME. I machined each part of the intake assembly here on my own lathe. I was the first guy to use my particular strut bar, which needed the end brackets milled and re-cut and powdercoated.

I can walk around the car and point out every single modification I've made to the car. I have spent entire weeks of time on my machines making parts and fabricating trinkets for this car.

My point is that it takes an honest, real car-enthusiast to look at the car and say, "Wow- really came a long way. Looks good."

It takes *******s who change their own oil and clay bar their car once in a while, to look at a finished product and insult the person who put so much time and effort into its making. When you learn to paint cars, powdercoat, machine and fabricate your own parts, and do something UNIQUE, I'll consider your criticism, GOOD criticism.

Besides, don't call my ride rice- you drive a Nissan.

Except for the fact that a giant aluminum wing on your decklid is NOT unique in any way, shape, or form. It's been done, several times, on a Contour, and thousands of times on other cars out there. I'll give you the rest of the fabrication work, it's great. But the wing, simply kills the entire look of the car.

And just because he drives a Nissan does NOT qualify him as rice. Would you say the same if he was driving a 350z? I strongly doubt it.

You can't successfully defend your position when you shoot yourself in the foot like this.

I concur

BUT!!!

Take a look at his little red nissan!

I see cheap blue ebay projectors and $3 gutter gaurd. I highly doubt anybody has the right to be calling out rice here.

Nice ride, and if it's made in Japan IT'S RICE. Period. You've heard the term "riceburner" before? It applies to all Japanese bikes so I think it's safe to say yes, a 350Z could be considered rice also.

My opinion, yours will vary and stink also.

Nice.

Yes, they are ebay projectors, they weren't supposed to be that blue.

It's not gutter guard, but a professionally cut set, and it's much thicker than Gutter Guard.

Oh well I'm a ricer. Takes one to know one, right? I can finally admit it and buy some hood pins (those nice stick on ones from the AZone), lighted windshield squirters, and a fake Blow off valve. Pheew, feels good to finally admit it.

BTW C, where are you getting your flaming exhaust kit? Maybe we can do a Group buy?

I sure hope so! Maybe you could find some time to fabricate a few more of those custom american-made-non-ricer wings!

Can't wait for the side graphics! This thing is gonna look really original and not like rice in any way!

But where are ALL the "custom fabricated" parts you speak of!?

the flaming exhaust isn't a kit, I fabbed it all myself. I made the stainless endpipe, and welded in a stainless nut to hold the spark plug.

Sorry, no group buy. Though I'm sure you'll disregard it once again, flamethrower exhausts are an AMERICAN thing that leads back to the early days of hotrodding. Hardly rice. My hood pins don't stick on, and YES, THAT IS GUTTER GUARD.
