finally se(vt)

Still say no to the mis badging regardless of power or not.

Amen! I mean, Jim had ~400whp in his SE with a full SVT body kit. He knew that it wasn't an SVT. Having an SE isn't anything to be ashamed of. Badging it as an SVT is generally frowned upon, as any misbadging is. Lose the rear door vinyl, sell those clean ass SVT mats on ebay and have a custom set made with whatever you want it to say(in midnight blue ofcourse). Other than that, the car is looking really good!

I am very impressed that you pulled it all together. I know you must have alot of time into your car, and I give you props for that. I could care less if you want to put SVT badges on your car, just swap in some sidemarkers in place of the turn signals. I know that these pics are just a work in progress, but sidemarkers need to be next. :) Keep up the good work.

That's the great part. No need for custom mats. You can buy original Ford OEM Midnight Blue mats that say Contour.

I don't understand why it's not OK to put the SVT decal on it.

My car has an H&R logo on the side skirts because it has H&R springs. He has SVT logo's on his doors and mats because he has body work designed for the SVT, and an interior only found in SVT's. I see no problem with that, and don't try to tell me it's only OK on my account because it's a performance aspect because that's a ridiculous argument.

Because it's not an SVT....period.

While we're at it lets throw a Yenko badge on a run of the mill 69 Camaro and an SIR badge on a typical Civic just because it has SIR bodywork or whatever...it's rice no matter how you cut it, and i don't approve.

To you, yeah. It doesn't mean you have to tell us what rice is and isn't. It's for the viewer to decide. Not for you to decide it for us. :blackeye:

Please explain to me how blatant mis badging of a car is NOT a classic example of the widely accepted definition of rice.......

Widely? So you're saying you make your decisions based on the majority and don't want to be different from the next person?

I love Honda's when I see Honda's badge Type-R Spec V SiR GT-R Skyline G35 SVT VTEC. First thing I think when I see one of those, is damn, that shiz is sweet!!! That has to be fast as hell to have all those cool parts!

I think if parts COME with svt badges like wheels or UIM, then leaving them on is fine. I wouldn't go out of my way to put an svt badge on my car though. That's why I went with a "Mondeo" logo for my rear strip emblem.

Car looks good

What? Try again...

What ya cookin'? Smells like sarcasm

I think you did a nice job Ian. Lots of work went into that car.
Only thing I think I would lose is the SVT door decals, the rest should stay.
I see nothing wrong with the floor mats, they're inside the car and go with the rest of the interior.
A set of side markers would look cool, but I see that's already on your list of things to do. :)

What's so hard to understand? You're making your decision based on what the majority think. Lack of individuality?

I think it's more he's making his decision, which happens to be what's generally accepted.

Bingo! Hence my "Try again"

Look, the car looks great and I love it, but the SVT badges need to go, that's all I'm saying here.

Look at BrApple.....his car is more SVT than just about any other on this site (maybe The most SVT'd SE here) but does he have SVT plastered on his car and claim it to be something it's not....no.

I also agree....if the badge comes with the parts as stated (UIM, Center caps, floor mats that go with the interior), that's fine....hell my old SE had an SVT UIM and EO's with badges in place....
