How much longer shall we beat the horse?

Whoooooo caresssss? At the end of the day, its still a slow contour whether it be SVT, SE, GL... or whatever else.

vrooom pshhh : )

My gripe is that everyone is quick to pull the ricer card. If you want to go with the "widely accepted" definition of ricer; then ANYONE with vinyl, interior paint, and/or a mirko is a ricer.

There's a difference between nice pinstriping and A large samurai on your door.

Interior paint/dye is only bad if it's ugly and out of place, hence ricey.

Mirko...yeah I guess it's the front end equivalent of a big wing. It sure as hell looks a million times better. Yes, that's opinion but come on, you know it's true!

There's nothing wrong with doing something different but I notice people bash CEG for bashing others when they do. Just because someone tries to do something different doesn't mean they did it well. They certainly shouldn't be applauded for trying something else. That gives them a false sense of accomplishment and encouragement. If you mod your car and like it, then more power to you. But if I think it sucks, why should I bite my tongue and not tell you? That's why we post pics, for opinions and ciricism.

It's like someone with a bad comb over. You're just hoping that someone will put him out of his misery and tell him .."dude...just shave your head, it will look a million times better"

(this is not aimed at the original poster, just wanted to vent a bit!)

What the OP should have done, is get SeVT decals made.

Now that's an idea! goes from Mis-badged to Custom.

While we're at it lets throw a Yenko badge on a run of the mill 69 Camaro and an SIR badge on a typical Civic just because it has SIR bodywork or whatever...it's rice no matter how you cut it, and i don't approve.

Don't forget the GT-R badges on, well, ANYTHING! I mean yeah, maybe they don't know what a GT-R is, but ignorance is no excuse.

I love Honda's when I see Honda's badge Type-R Spec V SiR GT-R Skyline G35 SVT VTEC. First thing I think when I see one of those, is damn, that shiz is sweet!!! That has to be fast as hell to have all those cool parts!

I saw a Grand AM SE once, with a "Vtec tuning" badge on the fender. It was great

Ok I'll be the 1st to say it I guess....Kudos on all the work you have put into it. Obviously not an SVT but I give credit where credit is do and you did put a lot of time and effort into it. Good job.

Misbadging is rice no matter how you look at it. If the parts came with SVT on them (UIM/centercaps, etc) fine, but a trunklid badge or vinyl on the doors is blatant misbadging. If the car didn't come from the factory as an SVT and you can't call up Ford Racing and get your build number, don't put SVT badges on it.

That said, the car looks great. Keep up the good work

That's a lot of work to make an SE into an SVT. I'll give you props on that nice job.

I am very impressed that you pulled it all together. I know you must have alot of time into your car, and I give you props for that.

etc.... no one said it wasn't, people just weren't feeling the SVT logo!

The only exception I can think of is a 280sx (Silvia) with an RB-26DETT swapout. I beleive they should be allowed the GT-R badge, even if not a "Skyline", per se. At least it's still a Nissan.

Hell, if someone could think of a way to drop a Cobra engine in a Contour... I think I would be OK if they had a Cobra emblem.

Moral of the story.... IMO, the badges/decals on a car should an indicator of what is INSIDE the car, performance-wise. Vtec, SiR, Vspec, & SVT badges are all hinting at what the car has in the way of engine tuning/type, transmission, suspension, etc. If you have a NOS decal on your car.... you BETTER have a NOS kit.

Ok captain correction . After skimming through 40+ posts of ppl beating a dead horse (including yourself) I felt it was proper to give him some credit. If you want to be a d*** and post what you did I hope you feel special. Just another useless post on your part.

Actually, I was summarizing that it wasn't just alot of bashing but there was certainly praise given and you weren't the first as you nobly declared.

90% of this thread is bashing, I don't know what your reading. Anyway yea I made my post to be the inter-web super hero your right:help:. Reading a little into it much?

Leave it to someone to start an argument toward a person giving another person a compliment. Unbelievable.

relax man, I wasn't starting any trouble with you. I was just saying that there were other people who complimented and encouraged his work before you did and that it wasn't just bashing soI quoted for evidence of that. I just didn't like that you made it seem like you were the only one. That's all  Sorry if it seemed like I attacked you.

Oh, so by chance if someone buys the trunk lid off of a wrecked SVT and the badge is still on it...I guess that's not misbadging.

It's all good. As I said, I skimmed through the thread and didn't see any positive remarks jump out so that's why I said "I guess I'll be the first". After seeing the pics I wanted to give him some credit. Between what you said and the rolling eyes smiley it came across a little harsh and uncalled for which I didn't really see why someone should correct a complement.

Anyway to the OP, carry on w/ the SVT SE transformation if it makes you happy. I do agree w/ everyone about losing the SVT emblems but the other cosmetic work you have done is in good taste and has definately added to the overall look of the car.
