finally se(vt)

I say its your car in progress do w/e the ____ You want! Put SVT all over it, I think its been a hard earned effort! Now when u sell it, someones gonna think sumthings up when it says SE on the Registration! LOL :help:

You have certainly put a TON of effort into your car , Ian . You made the car what YOU want & noone can take that from you . The amount of effort it takes to swap dashes alone would make me not want to do the job . It's certainly come along in a hurry - good job !

I think you have done a pretty sweet job.

I like the mesh in the bumper. I need to get some for mine.

Some suggestion:
The SVT pin strip is only a single silver line. I would try to take off the red part of your line. I think that would look a lot better.

Don't put the SVT wheels on it. Put some nice looking ones on. Make the car more original. Mine aren't the best but they are different then most.

Just debadge the outside of the car and let the looks speak for itself. Make sure you get the side marker lights installed.

My car probably looks Ricey because I have been driving around for over two years with one of the fog lights burned out.:blackeye: I also have a lot of body and paint work to do.:blackeye: :blackeye: :blackeye:

Keep up the good work.

I'm kind of anal about mixing colors and everything has got to match for me. Not sure if you are the same but I had parkedcar make me up some vinyl overlays to cover the blue ford stuff on the wheels. They are just black circles with a silver ford logo but I think it's a nice subtle touch.

Car looks great man! Very nicely done.

The only exception I can think of is a 280sx (Silvia) with an RB-26DETT swapout. I beleive they should be allowed the GT-R badge, even if not a "Skyline", per se. At least it's still a Nissan.

Hell, if someone could think of a way to drop a Cobra engine in a Contour... I think I would be OK if they had a Cobra emblem.

Moral of the story.... IMO, the badges/decals on a car should an indicator of what is INSIDE the car, performance-wise. Vtec, SiR, Vspec, & SVT badges are all hinting at what the car has in the way of engine tuning/type, transmission, suspension, etc. If you have a NOS decal on your car.... you BETTER have a NOS kit.
By this reasoning, then every SVT owner here that has swapped his stock engine for a 3.0L needs to rip off every SVT emblem on his car, as they are no longer running an SVT engine. As I recall, one of Ford's intents with the SVT marque was to offer performance parts that anyone could buy from Ford, bolt on, and upgrade the performance of their car. SVT was more than a trim line, it was a PRODUCT LINE that included parts as well as complete autos. I see no difference in slapping on some SVT decals after installing SVT parts (aesthetic OR performance) than in slapping on a K&N decal after installing a filter. The only difference now, in all honesty, between his car and a factory CSVT is the VIN # and the engine. He does an engine swap, then the only difference is the VIN. More power to you buddy!

haha yessss...svt kit and SE wheels FTW! (that's what I'm currently running :blackeye:)
No black eye there. Those stock SE wheels are a hundred times better looking than a set of E0s, and at least twice as good looking as a set of E1s. It's just a damn shame they only came as 15 inchers.

It is a shame. I'm trying to get rid of them so I can use 16's for a winter wheel allowing me the possibility of FSVT brake upgrades.

I tried to stay out of this, but I can not. Must put in my 2 cents:
Technically SVT is all about the VIN. The VIN says that the car was built by SVT. Performance parts sold by Ford are Ford Racing Parts not SVT parts. SVT built performance vehicles. An SVT with aftermarket parts is still an SVT - an SE with every SVT part is still an SE. Personally I still have my SVT 2.5L, incase I want to go back to stock.

Most aftermarket parts companies put stickers in with the parts you buy, because they want you to advertise for them. When you by SVT parts at the ford dealer they do not come with SVT stickers.

If someone wants to put SVT stickers on their car that is their choice, just as long as they don't try and sell it as an SVT. That would be fraud. Yamaha Racer has already said he would not do that. I think his car looks nice and it is his choice what stickers/emblems he wants. I guess unless a build number shows up on it.

Again keep up the good work and make your car how you want it. Lets stop calling people Ricers. It is all nonsense, car building is an expression of what you like and what you can afford. I don't like cars with grass on them, but some people do. I don't have to drive it.

Getting down from the soap box.
