Ford Racing RS8 Focus (No 56K)

When I was out at ATI a couple years ago they had their version of the RWD/V8 FSVT out there and the guy told me it would be $70K to have one built for a customer, so I wonder why that one is $35K more:confused: IMO the people that buy a car like that will not miss $70/105K anyways and are probably tired of the rodding scene, can't blame them one bit!

Ford Racing Started out with a Focus RS and ATI used a SVT Focus, $31,000 vs $21,000. The engine in the Ford Racing is about $15,000 and the engine in the ATI Focus is about $12,000. There are some other differences since the Ford Racing car is also used as a show car so it has a $3,000 radio that's not even very good.

If I won even 50 mil it would be worth it. I would probably buy one thats already pretty modded though, then convert to rear drive and drop in a 351:laugh:

If i had stupid amounts of money i would just do it up crazy and make it AWD with like 900+hp. Just get everything contracted out.

I would like to see a contour thats driveable with 900hp... Where would you get that kinda power:confused:

5.4L V8 w/30psi would probably do the trick. i don't know how driveable that would be, but i wouldn't mind trying to find out

  Neither would I. But that would be a project for when I have millions cause I really dont wanna spend that money and have it blow up.

If i win the powerball im not wasting 100 grand to put RWD in a contour. Unless i win like 300+million.

Win me a powerball, I'll do it.

The Focus required extensive cutting & fabbing to fit the tranny & rear end. Shouldn't be much different for the Contour - but maybe easier since we know there is an AWD version of our platform out there. Jag X-Type AWD, Euro Mondeo Si AWD versions come to mind. You should at least be able to use the fuel tank, and the AWD versions will give you a clue or two where to beef up the unibody. A peek under a mid 80s & mid 90s BMW might yield a few good reinforcement tips too...

And by the way, last I checked you can get one of these Focus RS8 cars turn-key for around $25,000 - initial Focus purchase may be extra.

You're right, the reason the RS8 was so much money was because there were a lot of one off parts.
