Ford Taurus SHO or Contour SVT??? wat would u pick?

Absolutely, 3rd gear at 70, hit it:shocked::drool:. I have to wait till spring to do that (see my sig). When I bought it, there was no other engine like that in a car I could afford (early 90's). I'd say the SVT is likely more "pleasant" and SHO is more "exciting".

The thing I miss about the SHO is the TQ on the highway. 3rd gear is weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyaooooooooooooooowwwww! Great engine in the the 1st and 2nd gen. with the MTX. Just never felt as tight as a Contour. My 93 was shoing it's age and I knew it was time to let it go. 160k on it and still ran great. I replaced almost everything underneath though. Got to have web access to get parts at good prices as well.
 
since the SHO's 60+ accel is better than the SVT, and the SVT is better 0-60 than the SHO....which will win in a 1/4 drag...assuming both drivers are good, and both mtx and same tires
 
third is referred to on SF's as "the jesus gear" as in, "third gear was desigined by jesus himself" as a member put it:laugh:
sho is faster to 60 than the svtc. 6.6 to 60. faster in the 1/4 too,not by much. depending on the year it might be a drivers race.

Definitely a drivers race---I raced another SHO MTX back in the day and after I walked him he waved me over to find out what I had done---drop-in K&N and replacement Dynomax exhaust is all.

A friend of mine had a 90 SHO. It was fast.
we would smoke Firebirds, Camaros, 5.0 Mustangs with it no sweat.
I would still take a 2000 CSVT though. Just for the looks alone.:cool:
