Found new place for an LED!!!

Correct.

BA7 is a bayonet bulb. Those style bulbs (not all BA7) are used in the dome lights (front and rear), license plate bulbs, interior trunk light, and possibly a couple other spots.

wtf are you talking about. front dome, trunk, and license plate are festoon bulbs not bayonet! map lights, rear dome are bayonet. footwells are wedge based.

Ok I hope this helps. There is a bulb inside the actual headlamp switch, which illuminates the headlight switch knob. The closest bulb I could find to match it is a BA7s. Once you remove the knob from the headlight switch assembly you will see this.

Inside the round black plastic piece you will see two metal contacts. One on the side and one in the center. If your switch does not have these then they were decontented from Ford. You will need to get another switch, and have to do some modifacations to the wire harness to supply power to the light.

I used the switch from my 96SE, so you will need to find one from possibly 97 or earlier. I am not exactly sure when Ford Decontented this feature.

As for the 161 bulb that is what is used to illuminate the black plastic surround the switch. Which illuminates off, parking or headlights on.

Any more questions just ask.
