How do you get access to remove it.
It’s been far to long since I worked on this kind of stuff! The darn speaker keeps cutting out.

2 screws on the bottom of the door skin.
2 screws on the outside edge of the door skin.
1 screw on the inside edge of the door skin by the hinges.
1 screw behind the door handle.(have to remove the little circle cover)
2 screws behind the plate on the pull handle.(pops off with tiny flat-head)
1 screw behind the side mirror access.(have to remove the little circle cover)

Then grab the panel, lift straight up (to clear the lip of the door panel from within the window area), and then outward (towards to center of the car)

Just as easy as that...heck I've took mine apart so many times I could probably do it in my sleep.

Yeah, it was pretty straightforward when i did it to put my speakers in.

too bad I had to do it again the next day because the wires were hitting the window when I rolled it down.

I always wondered why it would be so hard to just have 3 or 4 screws on the speaker grille...
I'm kind of glad that it doesn't. I've always thought that speaker grills with visible screws look cheap and tacked on. I think the grills in our cars look pretty decent, with the exception of the tacky "Premium" badge molded in. I just wish you couldn't see through them to the honeycomb structure behind.

I agree, also the reason because if you have aftermarket ones in the doors (like I do) someone just can't break in and remove a couple screws and rip your speakers off, instead they'd have to try and pry the door panel off and in the mean time they can be caught by someone.

Well all I see is car companies making things more difficult and complicated for the average guy to work on his car. I'd gladly install my own speakers if I didn't have to take apart the whole door to do it.

heaven forbid you ever have to undergo that gosh-awful procedure of changine a tire on the side of the road!

Darn automakers making things difficult! :D :D :D

Changing a tire is about as simple as it can be. Pop the center cap off, unscrew 4 nuts.

If the wheel was like the door you'd have to remove the Ford emblem, each fake screw head, and work around the outside edge of the wheel to remove a bunch of clips, some of which will break in the process.

HAHAHA.. okay.. NOW you have me laughing!
Too funny!

Sounds like some GM tires I've seen (Saturn SL, Full size trucks, etc):

Hubcap is held on by fake plastic lug nuts that screw onto threads on outside of real lug nut... Makes it twice a long to change a tire!
