When all of you take your gas cap, does it release the vacume? Shouldn't you be able to hear this at all? For some reason on my car, nothing happens?

After my car gets warm and I take off my gas cap there is a release in pressure :shrug:

Which car? It might be different for older cars :shrug: I notice it on my probe, but not on my contour. Might be an OBD2 thinger

95 releases presure, SVT does not. Thinking there might be something wrong with the gas cap, I went and bought a new one and the same thing happens.

if you are not having any problems then do not worry about, only fix what is broken. oh, neither of mine releases pressure.

my CSVT doesn't, but my Grand Prix GTP does. i had to get a new gas cap for it a little while back because it wasn't holding pressure and was causing the in tank sensor to trigger a display saying "chech gas cap" all the time. some cars need that pressure to operate, some don't.
