Just fyi when the next series of helmets come out the 2000 won't be usable on autox or track events they only allow 3 grades older. Right now there is 2013.2010.2005.2000?
I just talked to Gingerman...it is still an open track day! It is a simultaneous open track day and an SCCA practice day. Come one come all!

Hello.
I am a member of a car club that was planning to take advantage of your open track day on July 12 as part of a national gathering. Recently we noticed that the information for the date has changed to be for practice for an SCCA race weekend. Further the registration screen only offers the $190 SCCA open or closed wheel classes as options. None of us have race cars that meet the SCCA requirements and were more interested in a HPDE type event as we have had a few times in the past at your facility and a couple others.
The words "No Refunds" makes me very reluctant to register for something where my vehicle does not meet the "race car" requirements even though another member of our group called your facility and was assured there would be open track day time in addition to the SCCA time.
Can you confirm whether the track will still be available to non-SCCA compliant vehicles on July 12?

Subject: Re: Question about Friday July 12 Track Day
Bob,
We state that race modified vehicles and race experience are required for the July 12 track day because the run groups will be intensive with open passing. We do not want drivers with no race experience to be over their head when running with competitive style drivers. If your group is comfortable (and experienced) running in that type of environment, then you can feel free to register for the event.
If the July 12 date would not work for you, then I would encourage you to contact me about exploring other alternatives. Thank you,

Thank you for your prompt response.
I think our group (the Contour Enthusiasts Group - www.contour.org) will tend to have more novice or intermediate HPDE - level experience, and I don't think many (any?) would have the comfort level to participate in an open passing environment with competitive racers while they practice with a purpose. I think I am one of the more experienced track day participants within the group, and I only have about 10 track events under my belt. We were looking for a more relaxed and enjoyable day.
At past gatherings of our group we have rented a facility for our track days (Waterford Hills, Nelson Ledges) or taken advantage of an evening test n tune session at your facility as our first on-track activity several years ago. Unfortunately our group this year just is not big enough to support the cost of a full rental. That is why we were happy to see the open track day coincide with our dates so we could still have the chance to get on the track.
Thanks again for your response and I'll convey your information back to the group.
Bob
Speak with your group and see how much would be in your budget for a track rental and we can see if we can make something work.

I heard back from Joshua at the track...
So, I am assuming our budget was going to be pretty small, basically $150-$200 per person multiplied by the number of participants. That is the piece of information that I am not sure about... How many of us were actually planning to get on the track.
1 Bob - SoundQ SVT
2 Joe - blu fuz
3 boumacj
4 SVOFANATIC
5 Josh - Pole120
Who else? We could cover $750-$1000 with just 5, but that would not include anything extra if we had to pay for it.
I was in for $150.
