Well we had a quite unplanned mod meet at my house today to put a set of headers on trhlz1222 car it was me him and OB1 and I am proud to say we got it all done in right at 7 hrs with a parts run and a lil breather in the middle of it to stop cursing and lower blood pressures lol. No busted knuckles and no major snags. we ended up having to drop the radiator and the fans but other then that it was all good:cool: It isn't for the faint at heart and all we had were car ramps to put it on so no lift etc was used. If you are mechanically inclined at all you can get these done so dont be afraid to tackle them guys! Just wanted to share our accomplishment:laugh:

aircougar was able to install headers on hotdimmes car in about 3 hours ... drop the subframe and everything is alot easier to get to ....

I like my install plan better: buy the headers, sit on them for over two years and a couple of price drops until your trans breaks, then install the headers while you have the motor out to put the new trans in.

:help:

Betcha the Cougar headers would take about ten minutes to put on my car. But then again, I have the Zetec, with the heatshield (PITA) pre-removed :p

took me about 7 hours on a lift with plenty of space and light, couldn't imagine getting it done for the first time in 7 hours on my back with the car being on ramps(not high at all)

I'm really really hoping a local guy is willing to give me a hand... It looks live I've got a whole weekend of work to be done...

The only reason why I haven't gotten headers is because of the time (and busted knuckles) involved. They are cheap enough now, but I know it would turn out to be a huge pita and something would go wrong.

Like cross threading a bolt going in? LOL! Have to be careful and always use anti seize. Was doing a set once and almost rounded off one of the last bolts on the front. Luckily got a 1/2 socket on it which is just a tad smaller than a 13 mil.

Stuff always goes wrong when I am working on cars. Like taking over an hour to change oil on my freinds stang.....with both of us working on it. Came down to Screwdriver + oil filter = fun
Always the little stuff that if it can wrong, it does.

That's why we all love working on cars... :blackeye:
