I fell in love with Scotland in 1996 when my wife and visited for a few days on our way to a wedding in Ireland. We went to Edinburgh and then had to run across to Stranraer and board a ferry to Belfast. It was a good time.
We liked it so much we came back and spent a week in 2000 for the Millenium New Years celebration. We couldn't find rooms in Edinburgh so we went up to Eilean Donan Castle.

We got a B&B room overlooking the castle and then on New Years spent the evening in a Pub. At midnight a whole bunch of boats launched fireworks over the loch and the castle. Great Time!
Then we went up to Inverness, loved that place too. We then spent more time in and around that area and then headed out to Ireland, Wales, and finally back to London. I logged 1800 miles of right hand drive on that trip! lol
