Technically they draw less power than the stock bulbs except for when they first start up. I havent heard of a single wiring damage problem besides one where the colored wires were switched and it wasnt turning the ballast on.

I got the DDM version. Back then (6 months ago) both the Apexcone and the DDM were the 1/3rd size slim line. Not sure what changed with the Apexcone.

I got both fog (35w) and low beam (55w) for my Tour, same for my girls Passat, and low beam for my friends Accord. They installed very easily, and look really nice. I still haven't fixed the Passat's passenger headlight (broke the elevation adjuster/was already broken?) and it points almost straight down, but the dirver's side blub is brighter than BOTH of the old halogen bulbs put together, so i'll get to it when I have time :laugh:

Anyway, good people to deal with. I ordered 14 days before sale pricing was posted (this current sale is even cheaper), called them up, and they gave me refund of the difference.

Someone should try the [FONT=arial, helvetica]Raptor Brand HID[/FONT],and see what they are like. For $40, its cheaper than good halogen bulbs :shocked:
 
Any pics? What color did you get? How much and how long was shipping. I'm looking to buy a set very soon.
 
No pics yet. I got 6000K for both the lows and fogs, as the 55w lows will drop one color level, making them look like 5000K, due to the higher output.

Shipping was fairly quick, but call to check availability. Shipping was reasonable (about $20 for 5 sets). If you get the 55w, the amp draw at start up is low, enough for the stock wiring to handle, but I got the relays anyway. For the 35w, I didn't even bother as the draw is stupid low, something like 3.2amps.

Let us know which series you get!
 
Thanks for the info. Price is supposed to drop to $35 by the end of the month. I don't know if I can wait that long though :laugh:

from my understanding is the DDM and Apexcone are the same company, or run by the same people. the shipping number email by UPS from DDM says Apexcone. And I read a post about how paypal only allows one account per business id, even if its a different company ...

From what I was told by Paul @ DDM, they are the 'importer' of Apexcone. But in reality they are probably the trademark holders of that name.

The 55w kits I got were makred DDM, but the 35w kits were marked Apexcone, and they look exactly the same, just the 55w balasts are 3/4" longer (this is before they changed the style of the Apexcone) so who knows?

I would assume someone at the plant over in China knows but you'll have to dial long distance to ask.

I just got the shipping notice for the kit with Apexcone as the shipper so that answers that question and gives me some good news.
 
yeah I got my shipping notice monday but it still hasn't actually shipped out yet :mad:. why would you print the shipping label if it isn't ready to ship yet ...
 
I dont know but I hate it. I always get notices saying its ready to ship, then the product arrives and then I get the email saying it was shipped and delivered. Very silly.
