I was just wondering about SVT exhaust fitment...I have a pre98 and I wanted to pick up an SVT exhaust. I searched the forums to make sure that it will fit without any major problems, but the best I could come up with was:

It has been well known , for many years that E0 & E1 SVT exhausts are different . An E0 exhaust will fit '95-98 cars , but not 98.5 & on . An E1 SVT exhaust will fit ALL years of Contiques .

However, this was slightly refuted by hotdimmes in this thread.

Can I get some more knowledgeable guys to chime in and verify Buddy Palumbo's statement? I'm going to be looking to replace my WHOLE exhaust instead of just the flex pipe ;).

BTW, I'm 99.9% sure it's an E1 exhaust I was interested in...

I wouldnt be surprised about the differences.... Check under you car see whats going on and how your current setup is...

My SVT exhaust is sitting in my backyard and has the 90 degree type bends around the fuel tank....its also FS if you wanna hit me up with a PM.

Oh...I just thought of something though! Does the location of the CC vary depending on the Zetec/Duratec?? I was looking at that thread and it seems the CC is on the driver's side, and my CC is more towards the pass. side...And I already tried looking underneath the car, but it SEEMS like it would fit, but I might end up with the same problem as was described in the thread I linked to...

You have a pre 98, I would think that it bolts right up. It went up fine on my 95 SE...perfect actually. But that was a V6. So I can't say with 100% certainty that it will fin pefectly.

Thanks for the help guys .

I'm getting a little excited now haha. I just need to pick up new-ish exhaust components to put on before the cat-back SVT exhaust I was looking at ;)
