How I Spent My Saturday

the silver is nice don't get me wrong, but i think you shoulda went black with a chrome lip. woulda set the car off alot better

These wheels were originally black with a polished lip, so I know what it looks like, and I don't like it. It's just too much black for me- black car, black windows, black reflector, black sails, black hightowers, etc. I had to have something to break the black up.

Looks good, I personally liked the Blueberrys. Now most import of all did you remove the block wood from under the car:laugh:.

Aaron

It actually fell off on the Interstate a week or so ago.

Those look fantastic! Nice job. I hope the paint doesn't chip up on ya :blackeye:

Drool. Lookin good man. Oh hey I got some bad news, I got the one wheel well fixed that was rusting, but it turns out the whole section under the drivers rear door is mush too...

Hopefully I can get into the SVT craze next year.

yeah those blue wheels made that thing look like some smurfs get in them and peed all over the place.

Silver looks WAY better; you should paint that chrome strip black, it sticks out like a sore thumb on the back, or rather as the ONLY thing on the car that is chrome.

I love the way that car looks though, I love those wheels, always have been a sucker for Y-frame wheels.

Paint it the same silver as the wheels, kind of tie in to the theme.

X2 on the strip, also tint your damn rear window!

also tint your damn rear window!

Exactly what happened to the rear tint? Did you take it off? It was 15% all around when I had the car, and svt2sho's pictures still had the tint. That does look a little off with it untinted, and the sides are still dark. But the wheels look great! 1,000,000x improved!

IDK about the strip, but the tint is in the works. I think that I'm going to have all 5 done, because the doors are starting to turn purple. I wish it had the rear window that my other SVT has. It would fit right in.

It broke somehow when svt2sho had it. It was this way when I got it and the trunk is full of glass. Here's a pic I found in his photobucket-

I'm trying to get somebody my GF knows to do it on the side. He's an MECP and used to work at Duke's here in Flint. There are 4 of us that need tint, so if he can't do it, we're going to try to get a group rate and another local shop.

You actually have the balls to use the sunroof?

Why not? I put a new motor in it last month.

Nice pictures, but why iso 1600?

Wheels look much better. I prefer the current silver over other pics with black/gunmetal. Silver wheels break the black up nicely.

IDK. I was using an SLR and in auto mode it wanted to use the flash, so I just switched it over to Av and didn't change any settings. I'm no professional. I just borrowed the SLR from one of my family members to try my hand at HDR when I get a chance.

Did you sand between coats? I'm just curious about the durability of the paint, as I'm going to be using Duplicolor shortly on mine...

I did not sand between coats. I plan on buffing the clear coat after the paint fully cures. This paint is so metallic that it comes out almost more like a powder than a liquid.

Ok that's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure before I ruined my wheels . And I'm assuming you started by just sanding the blue? I'm going to be going down to bare metal :help:haha. I like the way yours turned out that's why I'm asking

Well, I had some time this evening, so I went to the empty lot across the street again to take some more pictures. I made my first HDR ever, and I kind of like it. I know it's not great, but I think it looks cool. Please excuse the logos, I'm just using a trial for now.
