Thanks guys/gals for helping me. really appreciate it

well. here's the kicker.......it works....what was wrong......who knows:shrug:

turned the car on. put the controls on a/c-high-cold. and it worked. then checked the rest of the settings and all of those worked also! i have NO idea what it was. possible loose end somewhere that got tightened up. thanks for the help everyone!!

All of mine went out a few years back. Problem was the fuse holder started to melt and pulled away from the fuse. I ended up placing a jumper with a fuse holder around it because it kept melting. If you put a jumper in make sure to buy a fuse holder with heavy wire - like 10 gauge - all the way through the block. I think it is a 20 amp circuit?
When that circuit fails the whole system goes out; even the cabin blower.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm now having that same exact problem. It's melting for the second time (mechanic replaced the connector the first time and plugged it back in - then blamed my big feet for the problem). On this second round, he wants me to take it to an electronic specialist.

So, when you jumped it with 10 guage wiring and installed a 30amp fuse, did it solve the problem? I can do that if that is all it really is.
