For those planning on purchasing Pauter Rods I'm quoting an email sent Fri, 16 Feb 2007 11:35:43am from Pauter Product Information <info@pauter.com>

"Justin:
Production on this item Pauter #FOR-210-530-1380F for 2.5/3.0 Duratec is scheduled for completion the first week of May 2007."
-Don

I'm currently checking on Cunninigham Rods and will post information soon...

Well after a few days of reseaching I'm posting the companies that CAN and CANNOT produce forged rods for our engines. All these are quotes from the responses I received in emails...

Cunningham
"cost on our rods is 200.00ea.
delivery time is 12-14 wks."
thanks

"Check www.eaglerod.com"

I have emails out to Oliver, Eagle, and K1 Technologies

It sounds like K1 and R&R will be able to help us out however the rods are billet steel or aluminum. I'm doing the research to see which is better. K1 states, "Billet rods start with a forging then get 100% machined on CNC machines and make a more accurate, stronger and higher quality rod". I'll post more when I here back from the other companies and I do some research...

I sent him an email about a possible group buy or a mild production opportunity. He's been really great about responding to my questions. The guy happens to be in Michigan and agreed to meet in person to discuss my build. I'll post his response ASAP. I would ask that not everyone try to contact K1. He's busy enough as it is and I'm being honest with you by quoting him from my emails. I'll keep you up to date as much as possible and get any answers to your questions/ grey areas cleaned up etc. This may be a great opportunity for all of us and I would hate to mess things up by the entire forum trying to contact him at once. I'm sure you understand....

Well he got back to me just like I thought he would. He mentioned..

"The group buy would not be the best way of handling this from our point of view." "While some shops make real good money, most others can hardly keep their doors open on the money they make on labor. They need to make a profit on parts to keep food on the table. If we were to set up a group buy and our dealers found out, they could get angry and buy parts elsewhere."

By him stating this as an honest business man and from the feeling I got after talking on the phone with him, I feel really confident that he will produce a set of rods for a great price that will meet the expectations for my/our builds. Like I quoted in other posts, He's been doing this for a very long time and has great reputation in the connecting rod industry. Dover, a Fortune 500 Co., would not have bought his company and trusted him to still run it if they wern't confident in his product.

Once I receive the set and show they will withstand the hp I will post the results. Depending on how things turn out, there is a chance these rods may be available to you at a later date. I'm not saying you have to wait either, only if you want proof. You always have the opportunity for them make you a custom set based on your build. Don't forget about Pauter having theirs ready for purchase the 1st week of May. Plus more than one person has shown Pauter Rods can handle the power.

Didn't everyone on the other thread just tell you not to waste your money on forged rods, because the stock rods are forged?

Look at the dates. He didn't post any after 2/23. On "the other thread" people copied from DemonSVT's website on 2/26.

I think we actually should appreciate his effort in finding us more aftermarket parts options. Someone here may want to push the HP to be more than 400 HP, you never know. So all the information is good and should be fully appreciated. Whether one wants to spend the money on a specific product is on his/her own. But the effort to help the peer CEGers out should not be overlooked.

The stock rods, based on the information I gathered as well as the numbers posted, will not hold up to what I plan on having when I'm done with my build. That is why I'm doing the research and posting it. I knew about the stock rod capabilities before I started looking into another option.

Actually these posts are all after the dates on the other thread. But I wasn't trying to rain on the guy's parade, I was just curious as to why he was still looking into forged rods.
