I'm just curious what all I have for options for upgrading my '95 Duratec intake system. I know about the BAT cone filter kit, and the BAT MAF Adapter with a K&N Cone filter. I also knew that SPmotorsports had an adapter too, before they went out of business, and I just found out about the Nautilus Cold-Air system. Are there any other options for me to choose from? Am I going to need to relocate the IAT sensor like the BAT website says to? Also, should I get a heatshield? I see some setups w/ and some w/o.

thanks,

Do the maf adapter and K&N cone intake filter. The IAT in mine is not hooked up because I have no where to put it :nonono:. Oh, get the Pudmunkie heat shield too. Here is my 95 duratec with Pudmunkie heat shield and regular cone intake filter from autozone. Powder coated heat sheild, valve covers, SVT UIM, and SVT TB. Sounds good too FYI:

You pretty much nailed everything on the head.

You have 2 options. I guess you might want to decide which one you want to go with.
1. short ram air intake
2. Cai system. --Nautilus CAI.

If you do the CAI, (which you definitely should), the heat shield is unecessary, though you can wrap the pipe to help guard against heat-soak. On the other hand, if you do a short ram, a heat shield of some sort is an absolute necessity for performance, IMO. Under-hood, and consequently IAT temps get stupid-hot in a very short time. And when the radiator fans kick on, IAT's get even hotter. Bottom line; whichever setup you chose, do what you can to keep IAT's as cool as possible for best performance.

Definitly do the nautilus cai, i have GMK's cai and it sucks i wish i never wasted my money on it... But from what i have hear nautilus is the way to go ...

anyone got a pic of the nautilus? i've seen people recommend it alot but don't recal seeing a pic of one. i'll be getting a csvt soon and will be looking for an intake as well.

I think beyondloaded was refering to this page when he made his posting.

Well if he wasn't let me clarify for him.

jmotank, are you really lazy or are you just not educated with using a search function?
If you want pictures. go to search and type in nautilus CAI.

That is all you needed to do and you would of gotten this?

Or if you wanted, you could of looked 1 page down and would of found the same CAI threads that have been created every week for the last 5 years. It just strikes me as peple are so damn lazy these days.

don't bother with three letered words or abriviations...ceg's weaksauce search engine doesnt recognize them

no, i am not lazy which is why i haven't posted much because i've done nothing but read and search. i just didn't recall seeing a pic of the nautilus installed. i'm trying not to be a noob poster and just read a ton for this very reason!

Does anyone with a CAI setup have a pictures of it removed, and showing the hole that needs to be cut out of the fender?

thanks,

I just received the BAT air inlet tube. It says I need a plug for one of the holes, since I don't have an SVT. Which one is it that needs plugged? Apparently I need to get a reducer ring from them too, which I didn't realize I needed lol.
