Ok, im already in the process of doing this on my car.

Specs:

SVT focus front rotors drilled and slotted
Wilwood Forged Dynalite 4 piston calipers (1.75'' piston size) 1'' rotor width.
Wilwood brake lines
My own custom T6061 aircraft grade aluminum caliper brackets 5/8 thick and hardware.

Will fit in the stock wheel with a 3/16 spacer, unsure of any other 16 that may.
17'' wheels are preferable, my 17's have a 45mm offset and have tons of clearance.

pricing will be around 650-1000 bucks depending on caliper color (red or black) and brake pad choice, along with how many in the group buy. will be direct bolt on.

but just an interest check to see if anyone is game...can become real if enough are interested, since baer went out of buisness a while back...

*note about baer, i was informed by 2 retailers that they are no longer in buisness when i was inquiring about kits and parts, do not attack the messenger, simply stating what i was told.*

baer went out of business? might wanna check that again. TCE makes a couple different sized wilwood kits for contours as well, but your prices are much more reasonable if they stay on the low end of your estimated cost

Baer is not out of business :nonono:... however maybe this other Bear company you speak of did

they could stay real cheap if i didnt souce the rotors or those who already have the rotors...more than likely if it was a black caliper, you paint it red instead of buy the red one for an added 40$ per caliper from wilwood basic or no rotors could be as low as 550 with no rotors depending on how many people... big cost is the brackets

according to all of the retailers who no longer sell them they are, summit racing.... jegs.... they filed bankrupt not too long ago...

hahaha talked to both retailers about it, mind you the info im relaying is directly from both of them. back on topic. if not interest.... dont post

Here you go, buddy:

Just got off the phone, they are very much in business. I suggest you do more research into things before you come on here and take a brash attitude with people.

And FWIW, I would NEVER dream of doing ANY business with someone who has 1) a major attitude 2) has not done his research 3) and can't even put a single proper sentence together.

So there, back on topic. And good luck with your GB. Buddy.

#1 We are on a forum, so when you can show me how to draw attitude out of text, let me know. #2 I've done more research than you think, just because I dont write a proper sentence on a car forum where grammar and punctuation is not required talk....P.S. abbreviations don't count as a full sentence either Mr. Grammar NAZI....its about short sweet to the point. #3 your the one who asked me what i was on... so who is the one who provoked anything... that would be you there chief... not I. All I simply did was relay the info that was given to me from the point and time that I talked to both Summit Racing and JEGS.

back on topic now...

Cut the guy a break, i mean hell maybe the places he called had a prank day or something stupid? As of right now, me and another CEGer are dealing with Baer being really stupid about sending people their products because they are making newer ones and don't want to produce the old ones. Maybe that's where he thought something was going on. Don't shoot the messenger, he said he was only relaying what he was told.

Truth is, Baer is NOT going out of business, but that's what he heard.
And using correct grammar just makes reading the posts easier, don't take it to heart. I was bashed several times for typing without commas, periods, or something to make reading and understanding what you mean easier.
Honestly, your brake kit should do well especially since the price is pretty low. But it would help you to sell it if you could put a video or some results of what/how fast this system can do/stop the car.

I have a question about the brake line in this picture you are showing. Is the braided brake line rubbing on the underside of the axle boot? Why is it down there? I just want to clear up what I am seeing in the picture. Do you have a picture of how the bracket mounts to the knuckle and caliper?

$650 sounds like a great deal. But anything around the $1000 marker is extremely expensive. Especially when you can get something through TCE or Baer. My Baer cost me like $1200 bucks shipped and I got a 2-piece rotor and polished calipers.

Thanks for Adding aftermarket to our cars. I would work on something sweet for the rear and you would be in business. Good Luck w your GB!

i know for a fact that baer has one idiot working for them who answers the phone from time to time. i tried ordering the 13" caliper relocation brackets to upgrade my existing 12" baer kit. he told me that they no longer sell contour parts individually. i knew it was BS because i bought lines and banjo bolts from them a week before. i had to ask to speak with another employee so i could order my brackets.

I think you should sell the kit with or without rotors, if you can sell the kit without rotors and without painted calipers for around 500 I would be game.

my car isnt finished yet, its my cooler line off my steering rack. and ive been trying to up load the pic you want but it wont upload to my photobucket off of my phone for some reason

All to funny as I have spoken with the same moron and had to do the same thing.

But to stay on topic...

Has anyone thought about doing caliper upgrades to the rear? I think there would be a decent market for that. All about keeping the park brake though, hence the problem. Those Wilwood calipers look quite nice.

The rear caliper upgrade has come up a couple times. Basically, you can upgrade the rear to an aftermarket caliper but you would have to fab a cable from scratch to make the e-brake operable....... Its easier to just put bigger rotors on and move the stock caliper further out with a bracket. It's all about friction surface and leverage. If the upgraded caliper for the rear still has the same friction area as a stock caliper/pad, then there is no reason to upgrade.

Until I go AWD and then I want to have 2/4 piston calipers back there... but yea I hear ya clucking big chicken

I did a four pot rear deal for someone many moons ago. No p-brake but...sure it can be done.
