Interior work...gone to far.LOL

That looks incredible sir. What primer/paint combo did you use for your trim? I did my trim with a rustoleum primer/paint combo from home depot... The dash parts came out good but the handles don't look so hot. The primer didn't stick very well to the plastic so the front handle screw covers are chipped around the edges from sliding them back in. Let me know!

I did a pretty detailed how-to in the aesthetics section on the whole process. DONT use regular spray paint. It sticks to the top of the material and will chip and crack etc. A vinyl dye or fabric paint will penetrate into the material and help stick alot better. Also good prep work is the key. Clean the areas your going to color change very well.

Um, honestly without breaking something no. LOL I broke the plactic piece that goes inside and had to get a new one at the salvage yard. My suggestion is to pry the over drive button out, cut the wires (which you can reattach later) and then it should come straight up after you remove the small allen head screw.

oh haha broke mine too when i switched

Right, and I read it...but using a dye on plastic wouldn't really make sense/a difference right? Which is why I asked what kind of primer you used on the plastic trim pieces... The stuff I used didn't do a good job because it doesn't really stick very well to the plastic. I didn't use a prep solution like you mentioned in your write up, but I did give everything a soap/water bath and let everything thoroughly dry before spraying. I understand the door panels and everything, but I am asking about your plastic trim. Did you use some sorta plastic specific paint?

For plastics you can use duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint, it works very very well. Prep is the key. Soap and water will bo nothing to remove the residue from any kind of protectants etc. Also for plastics you should use a good adhesive promoter as a primer then lay your base coat over that.

did you have a chance to try the die out on some leather or vinyl to see how it holds up? I need to look into the SEM die for the headrests and arm rest I need to die to match my interior ... fyi I went to a few upholstery places and all they would do is die it ...
