Intrest Check: Harness Bar/Roll Cage

As for timing, our cage builder is buried in work. He said he would have a window available to build the first cage in about 60 days. It usually only takes about a day or two to build each cage, so once the first kit is built others can be made rather quickly. If people want a 6 point kit, it would be best to design the 6 point cage first and then the 4 point kit can be made by deleting the front half of the cage. If someone wants to be the test car for the first 6 point cage, we can give you a special deal on the cost, and you will get the cage installed by the cage master. Make a vacation of it and drive your car out to the west coast.

Once the cage kit is designed, we can ship them most anywhere. If I remember correctly, shipping on a 4 point kit is about $100-150 to the midwest and $150-200 to the east coast.

Hope that helps. Let me know how you guys want to move forward. This project does not require a group buy minimum. We just need a test car and orders. If we cannot get a test vehicle locally, you will force me to borrow my mother-in-law's Contour SE for fit up. I could probably use it to get enough measurements for a 4 point kit, but a 6 point would be pretty difficult to swing. Please don't make me borrow her car ;-)

Do we have pricing anywhere? I wouldnt mind either the 4 or 6 point cage. Is this something that can be bolted in or must be welded? Prices will be anywhere around, guesstimate? I am interested.

I am more interested in a harness bar at this time. I like the idea of the 4 point hoop, but I still use my back seats. I will be curious to see your design.

x3, but not because I use the backseat. Just due to price and actual need over want. Really you shouldn't be using the backseat with a harness bar installed either.

if you get access to a car for mock up you should look into a rear strut tower brace as well. Quite a few of us jumped on a GB last year for one that ended up falling through and they are pretty tough to come by these days.

I'm interested in a 4 point cage/roll bar, but don't put me down for one. I won't be able to afford it right now, but most likely I will later in the year. So would there be a problem or anything to order this later in the year?

Also, how about integrating a RSTB into the roll cage/roll bar you guys would be making?

We can look into it.

Once we make them they will be offered as a made to order item.

With the location of the RSTB Id don't think we will do that but we can look into it.

Interested in the 4 point cage. Will this cage be made to bolt or weld in?

Weld in.

Located in tigard,Oregon minutes away from Vancouver. I have a csvt with many mods and would be the perfect candidate. Pm me for more info or email me. Troydaggs@comcast.net

That is cool that you are so close. I will email you and get the conversation started. It looks like there are enough people to really make this project go.

This is what I'm talking about with a RSTB integrated into the roll bar/cage:

I am definitely interested in a cage/harnessbar put me down. is it possible to have the harness bar integrated into the rollcage?

The harness bar is an integral part of the 4 point kit, so you are covered there. I can work with the cage builder to also incorporate a rear tower brace. I am still working with him on options and prices, so as soon as I have anything, I will update the group.
