Joe's Powder Co. (pricing listed inside)

Joe, you're the man! The replacement calipers showed up yesterday and look great. I can't wait to get them installed and throw some paint on my rear rotors to clean up the surface rust. Thank you so much for fixing this issue. I doubt any company would be that quick to correct the issue.

No problem, I'm just glad I had a few extra sets of calipers around. That is one benifit of having all this crap around I guess .

I have to keep you guys happy because you are all I have .

BTW, did some more t-red powder coat and also painted a front bumper:

Painted rear reflector black and main plastic area around reverse light lenses. Also including new hardware for license plate just because I can ;).

Blood red and safety yellow on horseshoes. The owner didn't want any coating on the place where he holds the shoe for some reason. One set he wanted all coated . Whatever he wants I guess .

Hey Joe, I was wondering if you are aware of any differences in adhesion when PCing different grades of aluminum. I know it sticks decent to wheels, which are for the most part 6061. I'm curious about 3003 or doesn't it really matter? Thanks dude.

I wish I could tell you. I do notice quite a difference in adhesion in the different casting methods vs. just sheet aluminum. I think it would adhere the same but would very in strength depending more on what method of aluminum production it had gone through. Your guess would be as good as any. Maybe Collinpc would know better.

Did about 5 hrs of coating saturday.

Dormant blue, silver, and t-red. Prepped and built a 3L too :D

You are correct sir. I think it is going in a '99 Sil-fro that has less than 50k on it. This will be it's 3rd motor .

Dammit Joe, quit teasing me with all these powder coated goodness pictures! I've been trying to resist spending money on the CSVT as the wife's car has been needy this month with the 60k stuff (timing belt, transmission flush, front brakes, new tires, etc)

Is there anything in this picture that would require me to pull the motor to uninstall / reinstall?

I would recommend pulling it for the timing cover because there is almost no room to properly install it....... it would just be a huge PITA. There is no easy way.

Doesn't that picture just look like a pile of candy waiting for you to sink your teeth into?! muahahhahaha .

The alloy make up of the metal has no real bearing on adhesion, that is the process of preparation of the part, ie. etching the part whether chemically or mechanically and the ability to get the part to cure temp without damage. The main differance in the two alloys is 3003 has a high content of manganese for corrosion resistance (drink cans are usually 3003).

Hope this answers your question with my limited metallurgy knowledge, and I do mean limited!

Been a little slow here lately. It's ok though - I have been able to catch up on some other projects around the house.

Painted another boombox (custom blue metallic mix) and powder coated the speaker grills gloss black yesterday:
