its the same basic idea as the cc intake. pm me if your interested in getting rid of your cc cai. i might be interested

i see it is a cold air. I'm staying short ram. the MAF adapter on his site right now does not look like that one. the one on the site has a thin plate. i would like a thicker one like pictured with the cold air.

Hmm I have had a KKM on mine since 2 months after I bought it and love it, but never tried a k&n out, I may have to do that.

I Have the intake finished I will have two different setups one it can be ordered in SS and the other one will be painted or I can sell them bare so someone could have them powdercoated. Here are the lastest pics I had to revise the intake to get it like I want. Now I ran the car last night wow the intake is really obvious it make a howling and seems to be very responsive. I have a 9" long filter on it now but for NA I sell it with the 6" long one and the come with good K&N filters too. It is all the parts need to mount to the factory acordian hose. I think the factory is a good unit because it is rubber which resists heat and surely seems to be large enough for the engine. I would be interested to see someone with the KKM intake add it on the short ram to see if the velocity is heighten. Here are some pics of the final product. joey

Doesn't get any better than that folks! Intake looks great Joey. I think that will outperform a K&N RU3530 w/heatshield. MAF location is stock which is excellent. Craftsmanship looks great too! Should be a good performer and should stay cooler than a short ram.

I'd like to see comparisons on a dyno with stock vs K&N RU3530 vs Nautilus. :)

I'm still worried about water hitting the filter. if you hit a puddle i would think water can get in there, or driving in the rain water getting around the fog light. my car is a daily driver and goes through winter driving.

water hitting the filter isnt a issue. your filter has to be submerged in order for it to be a real issue..at that point if your driving your car...you deserve for your engine to hydrolock

If you have your splash shield that came on the car, it shouldnt be an issue.

FWIW, I took my splash shield off when I did my turbo 3.0L and never had any issues with sucking water through the intake. You would probably have to be driving through about 1" of standing water to start sucking water through the intake.

That is a beautiful setup! Looks 100% better than any other CAI setup ever on here.

I can't wait to see some dyno results.

an 1" of standing water is definitely in the lines of possibility for a daily driver. It happens, you know. looks like i should stay away. i don't want to risk any water.
