Dont know what happened but i heard a pop and then the car tried to shake me out of the seat. luckily i was not far from home pulled back in the driveway jacked it up and found the above scene.:blackeye:

just for your information...i and others have had the top of struts snap with and without camber kits installed. Mine snapped on an OEM strut without my camber kit installed....G.

the harder part is taking the strut off the hub when its like that. its a PITA and usually results in finger loss.

its called a BFH. dont need to save the strut.

BFH obviously is the solution, im saying usually when jack the front of the car up, the strut fully extends and lets the wheel hang in the air, in this case the spring is going to fully extend and push the control arm down a lot further, the spring will still be under compression... so removing the hub would be a bit of a pain in the ass... Of course, when I replaced a strut that this had happened too, it was on a stock spring an aftermarket one might not create such an issue, the stock spring pinched the hell out of my fingers when I took the assembly apart.

I have seen the destruction of a few koni's here and it makes me wonder. How can mine withstand all the abuse I put them through, and then lightly driven ones fail? Maybe everyone should just drive the snot out of their cars. It makes very little difference to me though. I will eventually pony up the dough to get a real racing dampener. I don't need performance as much as durability and fade resistance. One day maybe.

never had a car fight me so bad to be fixed as this one! Jeez it was a PITA! I'm removing the camber kit as I dont want to chance breaking anymore of these and I'm actually thinking on removing the koni's all together now and selling the set when my new one gets here so I can buy some ksports.
