WTB: Inexpensive 2.5l Contour/Mystique
I'm looking for a new winter car. I'm considering buying two would-be scrap Contiques locally that I could merge into one running car, but I thought I'd see what else is available first.
I'm basically looking for a car with an issue that the owner doesn't consider worth fixing. I'll also consider good deals on running cars.

I have for sale my 1997 Mystique 2.0L Zetec.
187 000 kms on motor and body of car.
about 30,000 not even on the tranny since it was replaced in 2005. It wasn't really driven much.
more good stuff, Ball joints and tie rod ends are all new, Back brake shoes are new. All glass is good and will pass e-test and Safety with flying colours.
Onto the bad.
Timing belt pulley went and its all outta time. but thats an 8 dollar fix (in the driveway) and a bit of blood sweat and tears.
Car would have to be trailered away...as I am taking my rims and tires...(They are brand new) and I'm taking the muffler. other than that ...
give me an offer...anything over 100 will do. Serious only I need to get rid of this car it's sitting in my sister in laws driveway

ive got an old 1999 csvt motor that is knocking but must all other parts are good on it ,but the cyclinder 1 is toast,its got 180K on it. just ask for part and ill pull it out and take pictures of what you want.and price are reasonable ..and trades are accepted just pm me

its a panasonic CQDF583U its been used in my svt i bought it brand new still works awsome great sound and for the sirius sat radio it came with it when i bought it and just never used it since then ill post pics when i pull everything out.buyer pays shipping

Hello:
I am going to replace the Valve cover gasket on my Contour Zetec engine, as I discovered oil sitting in the spark plug area.
After checking the forums, it appears that the Valve cover gasket is the problem.
My question is does anyone know where to but a valve cover gasket in the GTA area at a reasonable price, as it seems that the major parts places (Parts Source/ CDN Tire) charge $60+ for a simple gasket, crazy?

Well after 9yrs of ownership it is time for my baby to go. I am listing the car for sale here first then will be advertising it via various means very soon.
Silver Frost 1999 SVT Contour with a laundry list of mods. Car has 105,000Kms on it.
Six point roll cage, five point Corbeau Harnesses, Corbeau Forza Seats, ground control coil overs, Bassani exhaust, optimized y-pipe, Quaife LSD, 1.5 Qt Moroso Oil accumulator with heavy duty lines and remote (much larger) filter, TCE (Wilwood FSL) 4 wheel big brake kit (13"), race and street pads available, sub frame connectors, optimized throttle body, fidanza flywheel, kosei K-1 17 x 7.5 wheels with Avon Tech R tires, (can be sold with street tires on Rage 5.0 17 x 7 wheels), Spec stage 3 clutch, 21mm rear bar (boxed in of course), Capaldi Racing 4.5 final drive etc etc.... I think i covered it all off.
Street seat belts just need to be re-attached to the bolts on the Corbeau brackets, one jack point is missing and the front bumper and side skirts are scuffed etc due to the track duty this car has seen.
Asking $6000 CDN for it. PM me if interested or if you know someone who is interested in it.
Hopefully the pics will work below...car isnt particularly clean so save the dirt comments!!

Well, it's time. Eleven months after I first experienced the joy of SVT Contour ownership I must sell.
Anyone following my saga knows I spun a bearing on the highway and the engine now has a gaping hole in the block.
I don't have the space/money/time for a restoration so here I am.
1998 Black SVT Contour
214,000 KMs
The Good:
-Original owner was Daniel Alfreddsson, captain of the Ottawa Senators
-2 new performance tires on front wheels
-Interior is in good shape
-New filters (including cabin air filter), wires, plugs, battery (all less than 10,000kms ago)
-SVT body kit components are in good condition, front bumper has some underside scuffing
-All electronics worked prior to engine blowing
The Bad:
-Needs a new engine
-ABS light switches on/off (aesthetic problem, had mechanic diagnose and no problems were found)
-Missing one jackpoint cover
-Rear driver's side door and fender have some cement-pole induced scratches
-Small rust spots in various crevices of the body
-Frame is a bit rusty
Would be ideal for a parts car or a TLC project.
Highest bid takes it, ideally $1000 but I need to sell so make me an offer.
Buyer would be responsible for towing/delivery to destination. Located in Mississauga (Dundas/Dixie area).

Gees Fern, I wish I had a place to store cars, cause I'd buy yours. I have a couple of coworkers that do lap days on a regular basis and I told them I'd join them if I could, one, find a car, and two, find a place to store it.
