just the fact that whoever swapped lids didn't take the time to reconnect the wires, therefore there are no reverse lights or license plate lights.

you can swap trunklids without cutting anything... there are 2 harnesses and both can be "fished out" and then reattached inside the new trunk. Its not that hard... we've done it several times now.
