lookie what i found

This guy i work with keeps mags from back to the 60's, So i'm fliping through a car & driver today that was from november 1998. It compared the bmw328i to the audi a4. (bmw won) After the artical was over i turned the page and found this.

That's always cool to see these types of magizine articles. Those numbers seem a little off though. Wouldn't you think the street start 5-60 would be faster than 0-60?

Street start is the real world 0-60 time as not everyone is willing to drop there clutch at 3K rpm to achieve a perfect launch everytime.

So no, street start will always be longer than the 0-60 times.
 
IIRC, thats the article that I read back in 8th grade study hall. That was the day I decided one day I WILL have that car!
 
Because you can't drop/slip the clutch or brake torque (auto) when you're already travelling at 5mph, as mentioned by Fmr12B.
 
at the end of it it says they will be comparing it to similar cars in its price range, anybody got that issue?

For all you guys looking for those awesome 0-60 times out of your contour... notice they took it to a roadcourse, not a dragstrip !!!
