Fugg you!

So Im trying to chase down a bucking problem. I was going to pull the wires/plugs to check for anything out of the ordinary and while removing the plug wire one of the boots ripped in half! You over priced piece of crap! Now Im just hoping that my wires were my problem all along.

Autolites here I come.

Got the Autolites, fixed my bucking/hesitation problem. The Mags were under 2 years old IIRC. I guess its a good thing it broke and forced me to replace them right off the bat, they werent on the top of the list of things to replace to fix my problem.

I regret spending the money on them in the first place. Quality my a**.

Advance Auto Parts. Im sure one of the car parts stores in your area carries them, just check online.

Lifetime warranty baby.

I would definately contact Magnecor and give them a piece of your mind. I would expect that they would send you a replacement set or something. Who knows maybe you got a bad set. I guess I don't have any experience with their products though, that's why I went with Talyor wires.

I had replaced my Magnacores with Autolites about 2 years ago. I'm also starting to get a bucking and I'm guessing it's my wires. If they're bad, I'll be going the Taylor route.

Since the Accel EDIS coil pack for 6 cylinders (PN 140036 pic)was pulled off the SP site, I guess I'll try to jump on the Taylor bandwagon to replace 2+ yr old Magnecors.

Just gotta find a place that will reasonably ship to APO (unlike Summit's $30 surcharge  At least Autozone likes us... free shipping to APO/FPO)

EDIT: the Accel PN could be 140035 also... Their brochure showed the one we need with 140035 over it (which is how the SP pic is labeled also), but the description said "Horizontal Configuration" for 35 and "Vertical Configuration" for 36, so I went with 36. Guess it's buyer beware and make sure you know what you're buying! Oh, and the reason I was waiting for the coil/wires is that SP listed the Accel coil as taking the later (99/00+) plug wires.

I had problems with my Magnecors when I originally installed them. After cleaning out the boots and using die-electric grease, they work perfectly. No problems since. I guess it's hit or miss.

It looked like SPM was going to start selling the Accel pack, but never enabled the "buy" button. The coil has been out for a while and is available on many other sites.

I'm also getting a misfire. Gonna take tony's advice and use a bit of dielectric grease, but I agree. I went with them because they were supposed to be the best! Well magnecor, ....:censored: you!

haha my advice is spreading. Just put some one another CEGers car on Sunday with some APP764's. I have these on my SVT as well. Nice for the money. Screw magnecor even though I put some on my brothers Cougar a couple years ago and he hasn't had an issue. Just too many issues on the forums and 1 other personal experience with Eurotour's old SVT.

i have them in my 00 and on my mustang, never had a problem with either. I also did dielectric grease, i wonder if that is the key??

It's no wonder I am as cynical as I am about general society and thus their respective opinion of me.

I have had my Magnecors for over 5 years. I have taken them off dozens of times. Okay more accurately hundreds of times considering all the plug checking I was doing when testing.

Mine still work and look like the day I installed them.

YMMV, operator error, et cetera...

Since yours are 5 years old, & most of the wires having problems seem to be 2 years or less, they may have gone through some cost cutting, manufacturing change-over, or materials supplier issues to cause these more recent failures. Who knows for sure??

First question that popped into my head 1/2 way through this thread, "Wonder if ownership/management of Magnacor has changed?".
