Making room for the turbo...

Thanks! :) That is pretty cool about the similarities...I ran the power cable through the subframe connector and then crossed over at the rear subframe following the factory routing...I can post pictures from underneath if you want ideas.

cool. I plan to run the cable in the cabin so I don't think I will need any pics as I don't have my subframe connectors installed yet.

Hey Paul, Is this a kit you bought or did you piece it together. Im not really familiar with two pieces: the Distribution block and I guessing is a cut off in the back before it goes to the battery? What is the two items and what are they for?

since out setups look similar ...

the cut off in my case is a circuit breaker and it would opperate just like one in a house hold panel woud work. And you can easily disconnect the battery also by turning the breaker off.

as for the distribution block it does just that, it distributes the power. If you look at your stock wiring there are a number of leads connected to the possitive battery terminal. this way you can now put a fuse to everything and easily connect all the wires together.

I also have one for the possitive wires and negative wires.

I wish that I got red cable and a distribution block with volt guage. it was a toss up what steeda shipped because of how he was getting everything, oh well, it works for now. I also planned similar location for the distribution blocks.

oh, one thing that I picked up on in Rawburts install thread was everyone told him to remove the plastic wire loom, said it would most likely just melt ... but a turbo blanket should help all of that, which I know you got from the pic of your kit Joey posted.

Okay makes sense. I was confused about the circuit breaker in the back. That is different then a cut off "switch" . Do you have name brands of the two pieces?

I dont know how Paul manages to pull off a stock look after constantly doing a sh*load of mods....

Clean job as always. Keep us updated!

I used Tsunami for both blocks (a digital distribution block with mini anl fuses for the power wires) and a plain, unfused block for the grounds. The relay at the battery is made by Scorpion.

To answer your other question, yes it was Steeda's kit, but I only used the wire and connectors and supplied my own blocks.

have you swapped out the transmission yet? planning a 3L also? what clutch are you going with and what psi are you going to run?

No transmission swaps as of yet, but it was repaired by Ford at 50k when a bolt snapped.

No plans for a 3L unless something happens to this engine.

I already have the Spec Stage 2 clutch with aluminum flywheel installed.

Nothing crazy with the psi...probably no higher than 7 or so.

sounds like its going to be sweet no matter what ...

I was going to stay 2.5 but got a great deal on a 3L ... have a built HMS mtx, stage 3+ clutch, warlbo fuel pump, 80mm maf, Hallman MBC, upgraded intercooler, bov, etc, etc, etc

question .... how thick is the trunk floor and did you have any trouble running into the frame rail when you mounted the battery box?

Not sure of the thickness, but no troubles with the frame rail...my question to you is how are you routing your cable through the cabin?

just like my 4 guage power wire for my stereo, through the firewall by the crouse control and trunk release cable, under the plstic trim to the back seat and into the trunk.
