morette

so when confronted they said that they won't be ready for a while, I know big surprise, they didn't even have them there at least that I saw. They did say that they were still trying to get them to work, but I am thinking it is deff a lost cause

I saw their reference to the F150 Morette reflector, but I couldn't find any info about an F150 model. I like how their current Contour model is... and that statement concerned me. Assuming they're going to release them.. blah, blah..

Partrick and Harold said they will indeed release these lights.. they just cant pass DOT with the reflector as it is. They told me that they will have to change to the F150 style reflector which is more of a molded in amber bullet style arrow.

I honestly might have been the first person to confront them at SEMA but I dont think either of them lied to me.. I made it completely known that I wanted these lights and that others still did as well. Hell, they even told me the pricepoint and the units they wanted to move.

this getting way ridiculous, it shouldnt take this long

slap on a projector and call it the day, reflector based headlights are being outdated..

What is the price point then?

I will always want these headlights.

I had more information posted in my Sema Pictures thread but the price point they really want to sell them at is 500.00 -- I told them that we'd be willing to pay 3-5 without question - anything higher than that and they will lose alot of interest.

I want to see just how many they end up selling at 500 bucks. Contour folks are kinda pooor

seriously thats not always the case... perhaps the young owners are but I always thought the majority of the owners around here will buy things regardless if they want them bad enough.

500.00 on a great fitting replacement headlight assembly which will set it apart from others and change the look of the car dramatically is a done deal in my eyes.

I already own a set of Mondeo Morettes but I'd rather wait for these as they will bolt right up and work right out of the box instead of hacking up my radiator support, grill, fenders/ bumper and swap drivers and swap bulbs assemblies as they are aimed for RHD instead of LHD.

Just for reference, now that I picked up my Lincoln LS and looking for mods. An LLSOC member does angel eyes for the 2000-2002 LS headlights, which you can find on ebay. He sells these normally for $425.00. What this includes, is taking the stock headlights apart, installing the angel eye rings, buffing out the stock lense, and sealing them back up. That's it!! The angel eyes can be had for $60, and the lights can be taken apart easily. $425.00!!!
$500 for a completely new headlight assembly, and not needing to send in your core is a great deal for a set of aftermarket lights that change the look of the car like they do.

Ask what? If there's a chance that they'll actually come out? I think CEG has asked enough questions about the lights.

They were supposed to be ready by last year's SEMA. Now another year has gone by. And they've had several cars to compare. Our cars don't vary that much to make it difficult to create a product for. If that were the case, there wouldn't be any aftermarket products for anybody, period. That's a poor excuse for not doing what they made a big deal about in the beginning. It's all very frustrating.

I want projectors!!! if only I could afford them. if they ever get to the $600 range I would seriously pick up a set. The stock lights suck! we need something for those of us that can't afford the 1200 for projectors, but want to do it right :(
