what would happen if you put on headers but no MILiminators? I don't think I will be putting them on myself... probably have a shop do it. I'm pretty sure they won't put on the mil's so will I be able to get it home to do it myself?
Search the forums people. A similar question was asked here less than two weeks ago.
And it will not run like poo poo. :nonono:
Turn it off with a PCM tune or install mileliminators. Make sure the bungs are there for you to install the lower O2 sensors and Mils. If no bungs and you need to install mils, you have to fabricate the bungs yourself.what would happen if you put on headers but no MILiminators? Thanks Guys... I read that post a couple weeks ago but was a little confused at the differing answers... thought maybe someone would chime in and be 100% on the issue. Like this..."When I did it..."
To reaffirm, headers installed without MILs will throw a CEL, but WILL NOT make it run crappy.
I put on the headers back in May, i think, and i did not put the MILiminators on and i have never got a CEL since i did it. The car did run really bad for about a week, then it ran great and has been ever since. I check the codes every now and then just to make sure, and i have never got one.
Umm no. Not always.
Remove Fuse 11 (KAM fuse) and you will never have a CEL code stored. The car will not run through its OBD II cycle and will probably run "cold" or crappy all the time. Look for low fuel mileage too. That's interesting. I know that sometimes it takes a long time for the cat monitor to run. It is the last monitor to run and even after all the rest have been completed, driving conditions must be right or it won't happen.
Is it possible that the cat monitor was turned off at the factory on certain tune codes?
