My boost build thread

fuel rail is installed, and just need to get a hose made for my fuel rail mod.

i talked with the tuner and he was using specs for an escape 3l and somewhere in taking in all the information he missed me telling him that in the escape it is a returnless, and it is running a return set up so he thinks that is where the problem is. i didnt get a chance to talk to him tonight about it though.

i really hope to get it done this week since my first event is this sunday

fuel rail mod is done and installed, car runs great. after figuring out how to make it, 2 nights to measure and build, total cost out of pocket $11.99 for a hose with a 90* press fit elbow

295 hp 264 ft/lbs

had one pull at 298 but the AF was below 10. there is a wheel out of balance or something that was causing it to bounce a bit so that robbed some of it, and the MAF was close to pegged, but im happy with it

mid pull with out flash

still need to scan the dyno sheet

finally got to run the car in the dry. it is a handfull. cant mash ok the gas, have to squeeze into it.

I also broke the passengers side CV. i have an extra one, but it is from an I4. i cant find any part numbers on it though. anyone know if they are the same?

probably not. the intermediate shaft might be different. the drivers are probably the same..... i would just get a new one anyways.

when i replace my passenger side cv shaft, i compared it to the one from my old Zetec and they looked the same.

honestly, if its an original pre98 Zetec shaft, i would be tempted to try it. the pre98 Zetec stuff seems to have been bullet proof.

is that because they have a different spline count? ill probably get new ones and compare them to the extras i have

The only part of the axles that are different is the part that actually goes into the transmission, FWIW.

I think they're different lengths. Not sure about spline count.

I would say that spline count is identical, since hubs are interchangeable, as are MTX-75 differentials.

the end that goes into the trans is the same, at least on the drivers side. i used the end from my old pre98 Zetec axle to plug the trans (removed the circlip first so it would just slide out without any problems) while i was installing a new inner CV boot just last week. i also compared the shafts in the process and while i didnt actually measure them they lined up perfectly. i honestly could not find any noticeable difference between the 2. in fact, i was just going to use the whole Zetec axle except my old Zetec didnt have ABS so the axle didnt have the tone ring on it.

Well then there we have it. All outer axles are the same. The only difference therefore lies in the inner axles between MTX/ATX.
