My new Optimized Y-pipe and Exhaust System

much better than the first exhaust. however i'm willing to bet your rasp on the first one had more to do with no cat and no res more than no bend in the ypipe.

It had a lot to do with that bend. I was running a system for a couple days when I built that first one that was just a muffler where the resonator was and it had a ton of rasp with that same Y-pipe I had on the old one. When I was building this system, I started it up with just the Y-Pipe and resonator and it didn't have ANY rasp. So I think that bend had a lot to do with it.

I have stock headers, stock y-pipe with a homemade muffler where the cat would be just after y-pipe with straight pipes all the way back and NO rasp. . .

what usually causes that rasp?

I remember when I had stock headers, stock y-pipe, cat after y-pipe and just removed the stock resonator, and had the stock mufflers it sounded terrible.

much improvement i see very well done! good job on the Y pipe and the split in the rear they look great.

i have the same magnaflow muffler i believe but only one just before the split (trubendz)

after all the cutting and refitting i had to do i might as well have done what you did.
