I am changing the clutch on a friend's svt. transmission is already in, but there is a green plug which we never unpluged in the first place. It is a green female plug, with two pins inside. when i trace the cable back, the wires from the green plug go to the same cable as the DPFE sensor plug. Where does this green plug supposed to plug in? i can't find a hanging male plug anywhere. it seems like it should go somewhere towards the firewall below the egr...anyone?

that's the only thing hold us to put the subframe back in...well, other that we broke the temp sensor :((( thanks all

its a 98 csvt. the cable has a green plug at the end. tracing it back goes to the same cable as the DPFE plug. the wires in the green plugs are white with black stripe and brown with yellow stripe.

the green plug goes into a sensor which is supposed to be located above the passanger side axel, behind the bank 1 cat. what sensor is this because it's missing? i need this info asap! thanks...

ok. i just got home. it is now 4am and we test drove the car. the spec clutch works fine so far. however it does have some vibration when launching at low rpm-s. i had the flywheel turned also (a stock one)...would this vibration go away?

Tony, as far as the sensor, we figured it should be fine to be driven, because the sensor has been missing for some time now. but i guess we will try to find one and install it. they are like $50, right? or should i go with the junk yard? :)

Thanks for the quick replyes :) you are always here to help:)

tony, do you mean the alignment tool that alligns the clutch? yeah i used that, but i used SPEC's tool...but they are the same, i think. the car doesn't vibate when accelerating. it only vibrates when i am in the process of letting the clutch go. once the clutch engages, its totally fine. it sort of feels like a wheel hop, but is way smaller vibration. i think the clucth slips when it engages...huh? i am driving it very slow now, so it fits in properly with the turned flywheel...i hope this will go away? what do you think?

No, this is the one I am talking about.

Powertrain Alignment Gauge T94P-6000-AH or equivalent. Unless you remove and reinstall the mounts one at a time, you will need to align the engine/tranny with this. It goes to the radiator side mount (aka front roll resistor aka left hand engine insulator). You install it, then install the other 3 mounts. After installing the other 3, you remove this tool and then reinstall the front radiator side mount (aka front roll resistor aka left hand engine insulator).

I have an aftermarket heavy duty clutch in my car. I don't know what it is, because when i bought it, it was already installed. When the clutch is cold, it has a vibration, as it warms up it goes away. I have driven a few other cars that do that with a HD clutch.

OK so i got the SPEC Stage 1 clutch. Installed it. Resurfaced the stock flywheel (its a 98 CSVT). I used the Spec allignment tool for the the clutch.

And Tony, the way we did it:
the car is on the ground. front jacked up. Front mount drops (radiator), rear mount (firewall) drops, then subframe, then most of bolts hold tranny to engine, finally left top mount. supporting the tranny and engine all the time of course. then slide out the tranny and do the thing. when we installed it, we did the reverse way. the first installed mount was the the top left, then the one next to the firewall and lastly the one next to the radiator. all bolts went in fine...

i think its just the clutch. only does it when it engages...but again, i have never had a spec clutch before...
