Optimized y-pipe

I was thinking about Optimizing a few y-pipes but i was wondering what they are worth to see if it was worth my time to do.

are the normal v6 and the svt the same y pipe because that would be easier at the junk yard otherwise I'll have to shop off the classifieds.

Yes, the 2.5 L used in the svt, non svt, and cougar all use the same y-pipe.

Coat them? What for? They have heat shields.
