Parking/Emergency Brake Light Stays On

as the title says... it would turn off after a few minutes but now it just stays on. would appreciate any help. thanks in advance!
 
nevermind... i did a bit more searching and i may have found the right post already... ty for looking though!
 
I don't know if this is your problem or not, but on mine there is a spring on the break pedal that pulls the pedal up just a tiny bit more, and the end of my spring broke and my light stayed on...I just bent the end of it and rigged it back up, its been good for a few months now ;)

He wasn't referring to the brake lights in the rear of the car. He was talking about the e-brake light on the gauge cluster, which is almost always one of two things. Problem with the e-brake switch or the brake fluid is too low.
