So I tried out a new CKP sensor, no luck. Then Brapple sent me a PCM to try, still having bucking/misfires. So I strip down the whole UIM/LIM again. All looks well, so just for kicks, I take the injectors out of the fuel rail so I can run Berrymans trought it also.
As I'm looking at the injectors, I notice that one of them is missing the brown tip and the o-ring. As I looked in the rail, there is brown plastic tip and the O-ring. I wonder if that's what was causing my trouble? I got the motor basically back together, but it was late and I was cold. I really hope this is what all the trouble came from.
I'll post after I'm done. I'm trying very hard not to get my hopes up.

Hope this sorts it all out for you!

Oh, and just don't tell the wife that you don't need the headers. :D

hope that does work out ... but he does need the headers, more so now ... if the car is going to run better it needs to breath better

remember I bet you can get better gas milage with headers if you stay out of the gas ... but you won't so  it just doesn't end

Did you get a new injector/seal , Scott ?? I read that as meaning the tip of the injector seperated from the injector body ? I think sometimes the seals can stay stuck in there , but I don't think it's common for the tip to seperate , but I'm no expert .
I've got my fingers crossed for ya ... again ;) .

No. the tip popped back on, and it seemed tight, so I oiled the o-rings and installed it. If that doesn't stay, at least I know where to start.

the tip is definatley your problem with the injector. without the tip atomization of the fuel in the cylinder is gone bye bye and hence the misfire. Personally if i was you i would go buy brand new injectors since it is most likely to cause you problems again since it might not be seated properly. It would be a big gamble to save a few bucks up and wreck your motor just my 2 cents

ah ha, I'm glad you decided to take off the UIM and re-check those injectors. :)

I think this may just do it for you.

OK, eveerythings back on, but I still got the misfire. Gonna go check out some injector prices. Starting to think this may be another endless hole. :nonono:

I have a set of injectors I can loan you or sell very cheap if you like ... let me know. All I would suggest is new o-rings to make sure everything seals right.

injectors on the way ... btw I would use you o-rings or newer ones as the ones on the injectors are shot ...

Here is the part number for the o'ring gaskets: F0PZ-9229-A
You need two packages since they come in packs of 10.

or go to your local parts store and get the fel-pro ones iirc and they come 4 to a package

but if they are only a year only then your should be ok, the ones on those injectors are dried out and I wouldn't trust them at all ...

Even though they are a year old, I think I would still replace them. Just for piece of mind, you have it apart, WTH.

I completely agree if they where going to stay in the car, but .... well lets not think that way, this should fix the issue so they will stay ...

but just to swap and run for 20 minutes to swap back I wouldn't worry that much about year old o-rings but the ones on there are shot and cracking so I would trust them at all ...

True. I will swap mine over and see if the injectors fix the trouble. If so, then I can always get new o-rings. I think I can get teh damn UIM/LIM off in about 13 minutes with all the practice I've had.
